Joshua Jackson & Jodie Turner-Smith Ordered To Resolve Custody

The actor will have to pause his grief and show up for a mediation process with his ex-wife to fine-tune visiting arrangements convenient for their child, Juno Jackson.

Joshua Jackson and Jodie Turner-Smith’s fresh order comes just a day after the actor revealed his home burned down in the Palisades fire.

A judge ordered the estranged couple to engage in a cordial conversation and reach a meaningful agreement on the custody and visitation of their daughter.

Court documents issued on January 14 instructed the former partners to attempt to work out a convenient deal on their own. 

Should they fail to hatch a plan, In Touch shared that the judge ordered them to attend a video conference on February 10 personally. After four years of marriage, Jackson and the actress separated when she filed for divorce in October 2023.

The order comes on the heels of the actor losing his current and childhood home to the disastrous fires that ravaged several areas in California. TMZ confirmed that the home’s structure in the Topanga Canyon neighborhood fell over the weekend, leaving behind unsalvageable ruins.

Jackson’s swimming pool, however, survived the fiery furnace. It represents tangible memories of his childhood home, which he purchased in 2001. The actor joined a host of other celebrities whose properties were affected by the fire.

Paris Hilton, Spencer Pratt, Heidi Montag, Anna Faris, Adam Brody, Leighton Meester, Billy Crystal, John Goodman, Eugene Levy, Jeff Bridges, Candy Spelling, and others are all currently counting their losses.

In a report by The Blast last year, the British actress declared her finances during their voice and explained that Jackson’s take home was well above hers.

She claimed the actor earned $2,351,765 in 2022, with a monthly income of $195,000, while her monthly income averaged around $87,500, but she earned over $245,000 last November. 

The actress also claimed she had $4,945 in cash or bank accounts and $366,289 in stock/bonds or property she could swiftly flip for cash. Despite her decent financial performance, the actress clarified her responsibilities were enormous for a single mother. 

Her monthly expenses included $40,000 in rent, $509 for childcare, $1,800 for groceries, $2,612 for clothes, and $3,291 for entertainment. Additionally,  auto expenses gulped $2000, and $6,000 was spent to support family members.

The TV personality leveled another heavy allegation against the actor, including claims that he asked her to leave their marital home after their separation.

She shared that he ordered her out without considering that she owned about $800,000 out of the property’s down payment. Turner-Smith explained how she had been getting through life, stating:

“I have since had to establish my residence based on where I am able to find work, more specifically, in London, UK, for the last several months.” 

The mom-of-one explained that she had no choice but to take whatever job came her way to support herself and Juno financially.

“All I want is to be able to afford to purchase a home in Los Angeles and to support our daughter,” the TV personality added months after refusing the right to request spousal support in her divorce petition.

Turner-Smith pointed another accusing finger at her former husband, claiming he failed to honor his promise to provide financial support and forced her to settle.

However, she claimed his agreement was far below what she deserved. In addition to seeking spousal and child support, the entertainer asked the actor to pay her legal expenses.

She petitioned the court to order him to pay her attorney fees and forensic accounting estimates, totaling $250,000. The pair met at his birthday party in 2018 and hit things off immediately, sealing the deal a year later.

Trouble began looming in paradise when they unfollowed each other on Instagram in September 2022. Their brief reconciliation could not patch the cracks in their marriage, which fell apart a year later, in 2023.
