Lisa Barlow opened up about an unaired text message she shared with her castmates amid Heather Gay‘s phone game on Wednesday’s The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City finale while appearing on Watch What Happens Live after the show.
While also reacting to Whitney Rose‘s shocking message about John Barlow, explaining her actions against Angie Katsanevas, 51, and offering an update on her relationship with Bronwyn Newport, 39, Lisa, 50, addressed Whitney’s communication with former cast member Monica Garcia, 40, and reacted to Britani Bateman‘s status with Jared Osmond, 54.
“I did share one and it was about [Meredith Marks],” Lisa revealed on the January 15 episode of WWHL. “[And] she took it with stride.”
After then noting that she couldn’t “remember what [Meredith’s] was about,” Lisa said Heather’s risky game, which saw the cast reading their worst messages about one another aloud in hopes of moving forward, worked “with a few.”
Looking back at the shocking text Whitney, 38, sent to Angie, in which she suggested Lisa and John had a threesome, Lisa slammed her co-star for going “too far” before sharing why she went after Angie after it was revealed.
“I was using it as an analogy,” she explained, giving a nod to the idea that Angie’s husband, Shawn Trujillo, faced similar rumors.
“And if you remember from the dinner from two nights before, Angie was saying things like, ‘Well, we don’t know anything about your marriage,’ [and], ‘We don’t hear anything about your marriage,’ after Whitney had been talking sh*t about my marriage. So I think I was frustrated that all last year I defended Angie. I defended her in every capacity, business, marriage, everything, and I kind of was looking for her to defend me too,” she reasoned.
Moving onto Bronwyn, Lisa clarified that the two of them were never super close, describing their past relationship as a “social friendship.”
“I’ve known her for about four years. I’ve always enjoyed my time with her, and based on some stuff that happened during the season and after the reunion, I think it’s gonna take some building,” she added of their future.
Although Lisa has been accused of not being able to take criticism and being “too defensive,” she denied that was the case.
“There’s a difference between criticism and then lying about someone’s family, marriage, business,” she explained. “If you talk about those things, I’m gonna react the same exact way every single time. If you’re like, giving me criticism that’s like, ‘Hey maybe you should change your hair or wear a different dress,’ I would take it well.”
Lisa also reacted to Whitney reaching out to Monica, confirming she was “not surprised at all.”
“It’s so Whitney,” she noted.
She was then asked to share her most honest thought about her castmates, which prompted Lisa to slam Whitney for lying “a lot,” call Bronwyn “two-faced,” and applaud the “vulnerability” of Mary Cosby, 52.
“We learned so much about Mary. I feel like she was a participant, there for everything and everything she’s going through, I think she held it together really well,” she stated.
As for Angie, she continued, “We’re working on our friendship.”
Looking back on the fifth season of RHOSLC, Lisa admitted that Heather’s suggestion that Meredith knows about “tumultuous marriages” still bothers her.
“I thought that that conversation was absolutely horrible, and I’m still upset about it. It was shady,” she explained.
When Andy Cohen, 56, asked her to reveal her rose and thorn of the season, Lisa signaled her relationship with her son, Henry, as her rose.
“Getting to know him better with Jack gone I think was a big thing. I think being in a better place with Heather and Meredith was amazing. And my thorn was the rose, Whitney Rose, with all of her baseless accusations,” she declared.
Also on the live broadcast, Lisa responded to Britani, 53, saying on TikTok that someone stole her Kerastase partnership.
“I need to go over and teach Britani how to use Kerastase,” she explained. “Because I think she put it in in clumps when her hair was dry, and it’s gotta be on damp hair. But she can have shiny hair, too.”
Later, as she appeared on the WWHL: After Show, Lisa was asked how she felt about Jared finally calling Britani his girlfriend, and she was questioned about whether they’d last.
“I ran into Jared at the lounge bar by my house, and he was saying all the things he loved about Britani, so I feel like they have a good chance,” she shared. “I just talked to Britani and Jared both two days ago, and I’m like, ‘No more DMing other girls. Make Britani your priority.’ And he said he’s going to.”
“I’m hoping and wishing for the best,” she added.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City season five airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
