Jennifer Aydin recently shared her thoughts on the Jersey Mike’s sandwich controversy, revealing how her Real Housewives of New Jersey co-stars, Teresa Giudice and Dolores Catania, reacted to the fallout. In a interview shared earlier this week with US Weekly, Jennifer detailed Teresa’s support despite the drama, and also touched on why Dolores didn’t reach out to her during the aftermath.
When asked about Teresa’s response to the incident, Jennifer Aydin, 47, explained, “Teresa was just like, ‘You shouldn’t have said about the old lady,’ which I acknowledged that.” Jennifer was referring to the comments she made about an 80-year-old employee being too slow while making her sandwich. Despite the initial criticism, Jennifer emphasized that Teresa remained a supportive friend, adding, “Teresa, of course, she called me every day on vacation. Teresa’s one of my closest friends. She checks on me.”
On the other hand, Jennifer Aydin revealed that Dolores didn’t reach out after the incident. “Dolores didn’t check on me, but Dolores and me really don’t keep in touch so much like that off-season. I’m sure she’s busy,” she said.
Jennifer Aydin also took the opportunity to highlight her generosity and kindness, especially in response to critics who’ve painted her as “toxic.” She shared, “Even when Bravo gets us cars, Bill’s always tipping the chauffeur, Bill’s always tipping everybody ‘cause he goes, ‘You know what? They’re working for a living and if they can’t expect a tip from us, then who can they expect a tip from?’”
She continued, “Anyone who has worked with me, I mean, I’m getting texts up the wazzo, ‘You are the kindest, most generous woman.’”
Addressing the viral nature of the incident, Jennifer also clarified that she never expected her comments to make such a splash. “I don’t think I’m as famous as some people may think I am. I had no idea that my stuff [would go] viral,” she explained.
Jennifer went on to defend her marriage, stating that her husband, Bill Aydin, wouldn’t stand by her if she was truly “disgusting and toxic.” “He would not. And he spoils me rotten,” she noted. “You think that guy’s stupid enough to spoil bad behavior? But people will never be happy for me… I’m so blessed. I pull up to my house. I pinch myself. I didn’t grow up in something like this.”
Despite the online chatter, Jennifer made it clear that she isn’t defined by the negativity and remains proud of who she is and the life she’s built.
