In an internal memo revealed by The Verge, the company’s leadership team emphasized that the well-being of its employees is its main priority during this uncertain time. The memo also assures staff that the company will remain operational and that their employment will not be impacted by any potential bans affecting the app’s availability to U.S. users. It also clarifies that the legal challenges will primarily affect the U.S. user experience rather than the company’s global employment infrastructure.
“The bill is not written in a way that impacts the entities through which you are employed, only the US user experience. We are part of a global company with over a billion users. Together, we will continue to navigate this situation to protect you and our community of 170+ million US users,” the document states.

“Our leadership team remains laser focused on planning for various scenarios and continuing to plan the way forward. As there continues to be noise of on-going media speculation, please rest assured we will communicate any facts to our employees firsthand through this channel as details solidify.”
President-elect Donald Trump has hinted at issuing an executive order to pause the ban for up to 90 days, potentially allowing further negotiations or selling TikTok’s U.S. operations to a buyer, addressing national safety concerns. Although the efforts aim to avoid an immediate shutdown, the long-term implications for the app’s U.S. presence are unclear.
