A judge in Las Vegas threw out an $11.2 million judgment against Trey Songz. According to 8 News Now, Clark County District Court Judge Jacob Reynolds has given Trey Songz’ team 30 days to get back to him on the civil suit that was brought against him.
The singer insists he had no clue about the lawsuit, even though a reporter had contacted an attorney who claimed to represent him over a year ago, not to mention the previous news coverage surrounding the case.

Songz’ lawyer, Sasha Frid, laid it out for Reynolds, saying that the multi-million dollar judgment would really hit the singer hard.
The plaintiff, Tyrelle Dunn, is claiming that Songz and his security team jumped him after he tried to help his wife, who had reported being held against her will at The Cosmopolitan back on November 28, 2021.
On October 10, Reynolds slapped down the $11.2 million default judgment, which broke down to nearly $28,000 for medical bills, $5 million for pain and suffering, another $5 million for punitive damages, and $1.2 million for prejudgment interest.

“Neverson did not know about this lawsuit until Nov. 27, 2024, when he received Instagram messages from fans extending their support after news broke about Dunn’s default judgment,” Songz’ motion stated. “Neverson deserves to have his day in court to defend himself, rather than being subjected to a massive default judgment which was improperly obtained in an underlying case that Neverson knew nothing about until a week before filing this motion.”
Dunn’s lawyers claimed that the singer was served the lawsuit through the guards at his gate, but his team countered that the service didn’t follow the rules set by Nevada or California law.
According to their motion, Songz is straight-up denying all the allegations.
In an affidavit, Dunn stated that he ended up with fractures in both eye sockets and injuries to his nose, face, ribs, stomach, ear, and head. He also mentioned that he missed over a month of work as a Maryland Capitol police officer because of it.
