Leva Bonaparte hinted at why Paige DeSorbo and Craig Conover broke up, suggesting their relationship was “strained.” The Southern Charm star also indicated that Paige would want to “stab herself in the eye” if she moved to Charleston, and she praised the 32-year-old for not “kissing his a**.”
Last month, Paige revealed her breakup with Craig after three years of dating. At the time, she said it was the right choice for both of them – though Craig later suggested that he was taken by surprise. Since the split, the Summer House star has denied rumors that she cheated on him. She’s recently been spotted with a mystery man rumored to be sports executive Joe D’Amelio.
“You could tell they were in love,” said Leva on the When Reality Hits podcast, via @breakingtherulespodclips on Instagram. “When I was around them, like they were so cute and they kind of had, like, a fun dynamic.”
She said the breakup was “sad” because they seemed genuine.
“Paige would say things to Craig like we would, like as his friends,” she continued. “She didn’t just, like, kiss his a**, and I don’t think he did hers.”
“[But] you could also tell it was strained,” she said. “Because it was like, you’d be at events [and] like she couldn’t be there, she’s traveling … They both have so much going on.”
“I’ve seen those relationships [when] it’s like love is maybe not enough,” she said. “It’s like, I’m going in this direction, you’re going in this direction. And I didn’t foresee how it was going to work. Because … I don’t think Paige was ever gonna move here. I think she’d want to stab herself in the eye.”
“And I don’t know that Craig would work in New York,” Leva added. “I don’t think he’s a New York guy.”
According to Leva, she previously talked to Craig about potentially “homeschooling” their future kids so they could live in both places. “I don’t know that I was necessarily, like, shocked [by the breakup],” she said. “Because these are big things.”
Leva also shared that she “checked in on” him, and she “reached out to Paige too.”
