Teddi Mellencamp opened up about the heartache of her impending divorce from husband Edwin Arroyave on her shared podcast with Erika Jayne.
As she reflected on the affair her dad, John Mellencamp, 73, had with her mom, Vicky Granucci, the 43-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum worried that she might be attracted to chaotic situations as a result of her unconventional childhood as she hoped to do better for her own kids, Slate, 12, Cruz, 10 and Dove, 4.
First, Teddi addressed being lonely amid her split and questioned if she made the right decision by filing for divorce.
“I enjoy my alone time. I need to, like, recharge all of these things, but there’s moments that I’m feeling now, where I feel really lonely,” Teddi explained on the January 16 episode of Diamonds in the Rough. “And I don’t know if those loneliness feelings mean that I’ve made a mistake or this is just something I have to get used to, and this is, like, the new change in my life.”
“It’s a constant ache that I’m trying to, like, fake my way through,” she continued on her podcast, via Housewives Habit on Instagram. “But then it’s like, and I have talked about this in therapy, that’s it’s almost like I’m attracted to another chaotic situation.”
Although Teddi said she didn’t want to “give too much away about [her] parents,” she gave a nod to John’s infidelity.
“Clearly, my dad was a rock star and he met some girl he met at the rainbow room, and it was my mom, and they had babies and he was married already,” Teddi shared. “Everything was a sh*tshow. So clearly, there’s been a lot of ups and downs in my life, and my only goal has ever been, like, I just wanna give my kids stability.”
As RHOBH fans may have heard, Teddi was accused of cheating on Edwin, 47, with her married horse trainer, Simon Schroeder. However, she has yet to say much about the reports. Instead, she has refused to “confirm or deny” the potential infidelity.
“There’s multiple sides to every story. I’m not going to confirm or deny anything, but there’s many people involved, and I once again say the same statement I said before: The kids, they are the priority. And so for the time being that’s all I’m going to discuss on this,” she previously stated on Two Ts in a Pod.
