The long-running legal battle between Cardi B and Tasha K has finally settled, with the blogger agreeing to pay $1.2 million over the next five years in monthly payments as part of a bankruptcy court-approved plan.
According to Complex, Tasha K’s payments will start at $176,532 in the first year and will increase to $318,653 by the fifth year. The structured payments are part of a plan designed to partially settle the $4 million defamation judgment Cardi B won in 2022. Despite the agreement, Cardi B retains the right to pursue the remaining balance after five years, meaning she can garnish Tasha K’s wages again if needed.

Lisa Moore, Cardi B’s lawyer, called the settlement an “unprecedented and protective plan” that will ensure that the rapper remains financially protected.
“Trust me, for all of the reasons in the plan we insisted on to protect our client, that is not the case. We don’t believe the false tears, and we protect against them.”

The legal battle between Cardi B and Tasha K began in 2019 when Cardi B took legal action by filing a defamation lawsuit against the blogger Tasha K. This lawsuit stemmed from Tasha K’s false allegations, which accused the rapper of engaging in sex work, being afflicted with herpes, and using illegal substances like cocaine. These damaging claims had a profound impact on Cardi B’s mental health, leading her to testify in 2022 that the relentless accusations made her feel suicidal.
As a result, she sought therapy to cope with the emotional toll caused by the numerous false statements propagated on Tasha K’s popular YouTube channel. Furthermore, in 2023, Tasha K faced additional scrutiny as she was accused of concealing her assets during bankruptcy proceedings, raising concerns about her financial dealings in light of the legal consequences she was facing.
