We’re only two episodes in and I could already tell that this is going to be the most chaotic season of The White Lotus yet.
Let’s get into that Jaclyn, Kate, and Laurie “friendship”. This group hates each other and it’s like they’re afraid to outright say it. When they’re together, there’s always some variation of a backhanded compliment being served (Jaclyn not believing that Laurie could get results from a body reading with results of someone half her age just like her was very loud). Kate and Jaclyn seem to be closer of the three. They’re always complimenting each other and then only realizing after that they haven’t said anything nice to Laurie. It’s like the two of them look down on her, even though they don’t necessarily say anything negative.

As much as I wanted to say Laurie deserves better, she, towards the end of the episode showed her true colors as well when she and Kate decided to gossip about Jaclyn. I couldn’t help but notice that both times Kate was in the middle. Girl? What’s going on with you? Also, Kate has some sort of obsession with Jaclyn that needs to be addressed.
Rick and Chelsea’s relationship confuses me. Does he like her or not? I feel like she’s very self-assured so she brushes off Rick’s rude behavior easily, but deep down, I need to know what’s going on with this man. Learning that his mother OD’ed and his father was murdered, I felt like he was repressing some anger which is why he is the way he is, but there could be more to him than that. He kept asking about Sritala’s husband and got upset when he found out that he wasn’t around– interesting.

The Ratliff family are walking red flags and I fear things will only get worse with them. Piper seems to be the most sane out of all of them, though I don’t think she’s being completely honest about her thesis assignment. Victoria pretending not to know Kate (I don’t blame her honestly) was a bit questionable. You mean to tell me you spent a week with this woman and you don’t remember her? What’s the story there, Victoria? Tim is having a hard time actually enjoying the vacation because he’s too worried about what’s happening at home. That’s fair – a nervous call from someone he worked with, Kenny, told him he may be implicated in a money laundering scheme.

I can’t tell who is worse between Saxon and Lochlan – actually I’m lying, Saxon needs saving. Lochlan just seems like he’s going along with whatever Saxon wants and that’s a scary thought– talking about your sister in a very un-sibling-like manner is cause for concern. Not only that, the way he talks about self-pleasure in front of his brother is alarming. Now, I can’t say that Lochlan is an innocent bystander here, because the way he’s looking at his brother, (yes his BROTHER) is also, very concerning. It’s as if he’s feeling intense feelings… for his brother. I must be wrong in thinking this right? RIGHT?
