Lukas Haas (First Man) has shared his experience working with director Christopher Nolan and long-time friend Leonardo DiCaprio on Warner Bros.’ acclaimed sci-fi action movie Inception. In the 2010 movie, Haas played the role of Nash, who was introduced as an architect under the team of DiCaprio’s Dom Cobb. However, after betraying the team, he was ultimately replaced by Elliot Page’s Ariadne.

Inception was written and directed by Nolan. It centers around thieves who has the ability to enter people’s dreams and steal secrets from their subconscious. The cast also included Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ken Watanabe, Cillian Murphy, and more. The movie won four Academy Awards including, Best Cinematography and Best Visual Effects.

Lukas Haas recalls experience filming Inception

During a recent interview with ComingSoon, Haas recalled how incredible it was to work with Nolan during the production of Inception, which was filmed in different locations around the world.

“That was incredible. What a cool experience. Obviously working with Chris was incredible. He’s just one of the best directors out there,” He said. “But it was also just a cool experience because we were traveling. That little bit of work that I did in the movie, it was in like a bunch of different places: Tokyo, London, somewhere in Morocco, and a little bit in LA. So it was just amazing. You never get to travel like that and be working on an amazing film at the same time. It was a really spectacular experience for sure.”

In addition, Haas also shared a fun behind-the-scenes story about his scene with DiCaprio, which featured Haas’ character slapping the Oscar winner. Besides Inception, Haas and DiCaprio also previously starred together in Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s 2015 epic drama The Revenant.

“It was fun. But honestly, I was like a little nervous to slap him. I’m not a very [physical guy], I’m not a fighting type of guy,” He recalled. “I don’t really. So, he is like, ‘Come on. You can hit me harder, buddy. You can hit me harder than that.’ So the way I had to like get myself [amped up] to really slap him and slapping him.”
