WELL! Talk about an insane episode, am I right? We’ve seen hints to where The White Lotus was going to go this season, but wow, they actually went there with the Ratliff brothers, huh?
Before we get into that scene, I have to address the situation with that friend group that hates each other. The friends who aren’t really friends are out partying with Valentin and his friends. Notice how Laurie is having herself a good time living in the moment, same with Kate, but Jaclyn seems to be putting on a show for lookie-loos she spots at a table. Something has been off with her the entire trip; it’s like she’s searching for validation with everything (are we trying to hide insecurity, Jaclyn?)

The night is going well for them; shots are brought to the table for everyone – Kate denies hers (smart) and Laurie, who is already on the wild side, takes it instead. The lookie-loos Jaclyn was eying earlier walks over to the table and starts arguing with Valentin’s friends. Kate thinks that they should leave as the situation seems to be escalating. Not wanting this party to end (and maybe hoping something happens with Valentin) Laurie says they should go back to the villa to continue the party. Kate is against it – but the girls don’t seem to care.
The party continues at the villa; Laurie and Jaclyn were having a good time, but Kate wanted things to end. After a while she couldn’t take it anymore and said the party was over and they were going to bed so everyone left. Jaclyn, however, must have wanted the party to continue for herself because she invites Valentin back for a late night snack, and it’s not the kind you can find in the fridge or pantry (if you get what I mean).
If this was what she wanted all along, why did she insist that Laurie try to get with him? Unless, it’s not something she wanted until she saw it was something Laurie could’ve wanted. Either way she was messed up for that.

I’m a bit concerned for Belinda’s life at the moment. It turns out Greg (who is now going by Gary) has been asking about her. Fabian tells her about it and without knowing the potential danger, says he will introduce her to him. Now that Belinda has put the pieces together and remembers where she knows him from – I wonder if she will approach him again with this new information or keep a distance. I hope it’s the latter because we saw how things ended with him around. Knowing that she knows, what is Greg willing to do to keep her silent?
Belinda confides in Pornchai. Fabian didn’t believe her but thankfully Pornchai is taking her more seriously. He offers to keep her safe, which I thought was cute (they’ve been flirting in the weirdest way possible and I love it) Belinda invites him to stay the night with her so she feels safe. Things are awkward at first, but there’s finally some movement to what the both of them wanted and they share a kiss. I love that for Belinda, but let’s keep her safe please.

Now on to the mess that is the Ratliff family – Piper tells her parents the real reason she wanted them to go to Thailand and they are not thrilled about it at all. She tells them there was never a thesis and she only made plans to come to Thailand to check out the meditation center. She plans on moving there for a year after graduation. Piper continues to try to plead her case with her parents but her mother, Victoria, thinks she’s going to extremes with this decision. Tim is feeling overwhelmed and steps away from the table. I doubt he was focused on what Piper was saying with everything he has going on back at home.
Victoria is still going on about Piper’s decision to move to Thailand after graduation saying “You can do everything right but still at any moment something could come along and upend everything”. These words cause a reaction from Tim –he’s worried about what will happen when the family finds out about the trouble he’s gotten into.
Overwhelmed with everything, Tim starts to write out a note to his family apologizing for everything. We got the impression that he was going to end it all right then and there, but thankfully he was interrupted.

Let’s talk about the Ratliff brothers now.
Saxon is having this conversation with his younger brother about going for it with Chloe. He’s not too sure it’s something he wants to do but of course in true Saxon fashion, he tells his brother to just go for it. Chelsea wants nothing to do with him, but instead of taking a hint, he sees it as a challenge. He’s so disgusting it makes me sick.
They make it to the Full Moon party. Saxon tells Lochlan to pace himself when he sees that he’s drinking more than necessary. He tells him to let the girls get “messy” (we all know why). Chloe brings drugs and Saxon, shockingly, draws the line there, but Lochlan helps himself. Saxon didn’t like that, but he eventually caved when Chelsea came back though and took a pill from Chloe.

Everyone is back on the yacht and the drinks are pouring. Then of course Saxon being who he is gestures for Chelsea and Chloe to kiss – they do and it’s no big deal. Then he gestures for Chloe and Lochlan to kiss – they do and again, it’s no big deal. Then, both Chloe and Chelsea gesture for Lochlan and Saxon to kiss. Lochlan doesn’t seem to mind even though that’s, you know, his brother. Saxon has some reservations about it (which shocked me) but he went along with it. When the first peck wasn’t enough to satisfy the girls, Lochlan goes all in. He’s happier than ever after the fact, and the girls are laughing not giving it much thought. Saxon, however, has this reaction that I can’t quite place: he’s a mixture of “what just happened?” and “why was that not terrible?”.
I want to hear from you guys – what were your thoughts on the new episode of The White Lotus? More specifically – what’d you think of Saxon’s reaction to the kiss from Lochlan? Share your thoughts below or connect with me on X/Twitter @chenfordhugs
