Police have charged an OnlyFans model with second-degree murder after a man who paid her $11,000 for a filmed saran wrap fetish suffocated and died.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit filed by the Escondido Police Department and obtained by FOX 5 San Diego, in April 2023, Michael Dale, 56, paid OnlyFans model Michaela Brashaye Rylaarsdam, then 29 and now 31, more than $11,000 to come to his Escondido home and perform BDSM acts — an umbrella term to describe sexual practices like bondage, discipline, dominance, sadism and submission.
The two first began talking in March 2023. The victim had discovered the model from an advertisement on an escort service website. After a series of text messages and phone calls, the woman agreed to visit his home on April 17, 2023.
When Rylaarsdam, a San Bernardino County resident, arrived at 6 p.m., her client appeared intoxicated. However, the OnlyFans model proceeded to spend several hours engaging in fetish acts (with tape, saran wrap, and more) with him until he suffocated. According to the affidavit, Dale’s several requests were extreme and unusual.

Rylaarsdam obliged in using saran wrap to wrap him up “like a mummy,” use Gorilla Glue to glue a pair of women’s boots onto his feet, and pour adhesive onto his eyes to seal them shut, among other acts. Despite the freaky fetishes, investigators concluded that there was “no evidence” that Dale “ever requested Rylaarsdam to place a bag over his head and secure it, which eventually caused him to suffocate and die.”
When police and fire personnel arrived at the scene, they found Dale unconscious and Rylaarsdam performing CPR. She denied ever putting anything over Dale’s head. She also told police that this was the first time she’d ever done any fetish-like acts.
Detectives reported that they found several questionable videos on the model’s cellphone. The woman said she recorded their acts as “content” for her OnlyFans page. According to the Daily Mail, she operates with her husband and father of her three children, Brandon. However, police said they saw Dale struggling to breathe in videos taken minutes before Rylaarsdam called 911, at 10:10 p.m.

The affidavit continues to read:
“He had duct tape over his mouth, a plastic bag over his head, more saran wrap around that, and then duct tape wrapped around his face and head, securing all the layers to his head. He also appeared to have had saran wrap wrapped around his neck tightly.”
Police believe Dale’s head was sealed in a plastic bag for at least eight minutes. The San Diego County medical examiner’s office concluded that the cause of Dale’s death was asphyxia. Officials further classified the manner of his death as a homicide.
Subsequently, after a month-long investigation, Escondido Police Officers arrested the OnlyFans model on February 19 for murder. She has pleaded not guilty and remains jailed without bail at the Las Colinas Detention Facility in San Diego County.
