Soulja Boy took the stand again during his civil rape and kidnapping trial yesterday and proclaimed his innocence.

Soulja Boy Testifies During Trial

On Wednesday (April 2), the rapper testified for the second time during his ongoing trial, where he is accused of kidnapping, rape and unpaid wages by his former employee and girlfriend. During the hearing, SB answered questions from his attorney about hostile text messages he sent to his unnamed accuser. Soulja explained one text that reads “F**k you b***h” as “regular vernacular of the culture of rap,” Courthouse News Service reports. For another text in question that read, “Die b***h. Shoulda killed your stupid a*s,” the Atlanta-bred artist explained: “I just meant you’re dead to me. It wasn’t meant as a threat or violence.”

Soulja claimed he never officially hired the woman and said she was more like a live-in blunt roller. He also denied ever sexually assaulting his accuser, saying their relationship was always mutual, though rocky.

Soulja Boy Trial Verdict Looms

Soulja was originally sued in January of 2021 in Los Angeles Superior Court by the woman who claims she started working as Soulja’s personal assistant in 2018 and began dating him the following year. Jane Doe claims she was raped, beaten and held hostage by the recording artist, who also subjected her to a hostile work environment and did not pay her the wages that she earned.

Last week, the accuser testified about being the victim of abuse and rape during her time dating the rapper.

“I feared for my life,” Doe told the jury, adding that Soulja Boy, born DeAndre Way, threatened to “send shooters” to the house. “I was scared of what he would do to my family. I didn’t want him to hurt anybody because of me,” she testified.

Closing arguments in the three-week trial are expected to be delivered on Monday (April 7).
