Will Poulter shared an amusing tidbit about his time filming Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, where he inadvertently punched co-star Dave Bautista in the face. Poulter made his MCU debut in the James Gunn-helmed project, stepping into the shoes of Adam Warlock. The 2023 flick garnered a positive response from critics and audiences alike, with its masterful mixture of emotional and extravagant elements playing a big role in its success. However, if The Maze Runner star’s comments are anything to go by, the film’s production proved to be as eventful as the final product.
Will Poulter accidentally smahsed Dave Bautista’s face during Guardians 3 filming
During his recent appearance on The Jonathan Ross Show, Will Poulter explained how he accidentally hurt Dave Bautista on the set of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
He stated, “We do this whole fight scene, and I accidentally punch Dave straight in the face. Suddenly, he was whisked away on this wire, and I was just left there. I was like, ‘I’m pretty sure I just punched him in the face. And I’m panicking, and he’s over in the corner being made-up, they’re touching up his makeup, and I say to the person making me up, ‘I think I just punched Dave in the face.”
Will Poulter then remarked that despite him landing a punch on Bautista, his Guardians 3 co-star made sure to reassure him that everything was okay. “I went, ‘Dave, did I punch you in the face?’ and without looking at me, he went, ‘No, you’re good buddy, it’s all good.’ I briefly caught a glimpse of him, big gold fist just on his eye. He was too nice to tell me, but that was a bit of a giveaway,” he said.
Having been featured in Guardians 3, Will Poulter has yet to reprise his role of Adam Warlock. In a recent interview, the actor admitted that he would love to come back to the MCU, provided that he receives a call. Nevertheless, Marvel Studios has yet to share any official word of Poulter’s supposed return in either Avengers: Doomsday or Secret Wars.
