The abuse came to light after Child Protective Services (CPS) and the Angelina County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation in April 2023. Authorities say the children were restrained with rope, their mouths were covered with tape, and their eyes were covered with a rag before receiving tattoos.
It was also reported that the couple’s friends were reportedly in the home during the disturbing incident. The couple was also accused of trying to remove the tattoos with lemon juice after the children’s biological father saw them and questioned Megan about the tattoos.
Couple Accused of Forcibly Tattooing Children Face Serious Jail Time
Court records reveal that Megan Farr pleaded guilty last Thursday to unlawful restraint and four counts of injury to a child with intentional bodily injury.
Her husband, Gunnar Farr, had already pleaded guilty on March 19 to the same charges. He was sentenced to:
Two years for the unlawful restraint charge
Five years for each of the four bodily injury charges
Gunnar, who is the children’s stepfather, participated in the abuse alongside Megan.
Investigators learned that after the abuse, the couple attempted to hide the evidence. Reports say they tried to remove the tattoos using lemon juice after the children’s biological father noticed the tattoos and confronted Megan about them.
Friends Were Reportedly Present During the Incident Involving Couple Accused of Forcibly Tattooing Children
One of the most shocking details of this case is that friends of the couple were allegedly present in the home while the abuse took place. Authorities say the children were given tattoos on their foot and shoulder while being forcibly restrained. The couple reportedly used tape and rags to cover the children’s faces, making the incident even more traumatic.
Child Protective Services removed the children from the home shortly after the abuse was discovered.
