Here’s why William Levy was arrested in Florida
The Dancing With the Stars alum was arrested at Broward County Jail on April 14, 2025. He was released on Tuesday morning after he posted the $500 bond.
Jail records state that the two charges against William Levy included “disorderly conduct by intoxication in a public place” and “trespassing.” The Broward Sheriff’s Office further noted that he was causing a “disturbance” while being intoxicated in a public place. (Via ABC7 Chicago)
Later, the Cuban-American actor talked to the reporters and explained his situation. As per CBS News, the 44-year-old shared that he was present at the Baires Grill, Weston, and got entangled in someone else’s argument. He also denied any rumors of assaulting a restaurant employee.
The actor revealed that he was trying to break up the argument. “They can see it in their cameras. There was an argument. I get in the middle to try to prevent the situation from escalating, and I’m the one who ended up in handcuffs,” Levy claimed. He also insisted that though he had consumed a few drinks, he was not intoxicated.
Moreover, in an Instagram clip shared by journalist Maria Fernanda Lopez, Levy added, “I tried to stay calm the whole time. In the end, I was the one who had to leave.” He also addressed the reports regarding trespassing, saying, “Well, they had to take me in for something.”
On the work front, William Levy recently starred in the TV series Vuelve a mí, which ended in 2024. The series also featured Mexican actress Samadhi Zendejas. Levy is also the executive producer of the series, along with Karen Barroeta and Elizabeth Suarez.
