On April 19, Gates riled the public up when he posted an Instagram video of himself sharing assumptions he had about LeBron and his wife, to whom he’s been married for over a decade.
“I don’t like the way Savannah look at LeBron,” Gates said, referring to the special handshake the baller has with his wife. “I like the way them white women look at LeBron. Like, when as soon as he walk out there, they just be like, ‘Oh oh oh.’ They be d-cked out.”
Gates seemed to know his comments would spark controversy since he noted people would “hate what I just said.” However, he continued, “I’m gonna be honest. If everybody like me, then I’m p-ssy.”

He also said he was speaking out about how he felt because of his love for LeBron. “I love LeBron and I hate that for him,” he explained. “As a man, I hate that he gotta go through that in the playoffs.”

LeBron James Isn’t Worried About Gates’ Opinion
Once Gates’ comments went viral and LeBron got wind of it, the Los Angeles Lakers player responded with a series of posts on his Instagram. He also left a direct caption that made it crystal clear who and what he was referring to.
The two photos showed him and Savannah smiling at each other and embracing after what appears to be one of his games.
“‘Kings don’t concern themselves with the opinions of peasants,'” he captioned the post. “Where to next, Queen?!?! Let’s get it.”

In the comment section of Gates’ Instagram video, fans blasted the rapper, who’s been in and out of jail multiple times since the early 2000s, for speaking negatively about another person’s relationship.
“Yeah, [I don’t know], G,” someone wrote. “She knows a different version of LeBron than the LeBron we know. We have our own perception of who he is based off what he does and how great he is.”
“She’s not d-cked out cause she’s the wife and not them groupies,” another shared.
“She has been with that man since high school,” a third netizen posted. “She is not a fan. She is his wife.”

LeBron Supporters Continue Praising Him And Savannah: ‘I Already Knew He Wasn’t Gonna Let That Slide’

On LeBron’s page, the love and support from his supporters immediately began to pour in.
Grammy-award-winning artist Victoria Monet commented, “And that’s that on that.”
Other fans also chimed in, saying they knew LeBron would have something to say about Gates’ unsettling remarks about the mother of his children.
“I already knew he wasn’t gonna let that sh-t slide,” someone posted, while another commended the NBA champion for always having his family’s back.
“This man defends every member of his family to the end,” they wrote. “Can always respect that, no matter what you think of him.”
Someone else shared their opinion and said Savannah “looks at you like you’re the most important, amazing man in the world to her.”
They continued, encouraging LeBron to block out the noise and to continue focusing on what matters because “the moon doesn’t care about the wolves howling at it.”

In another video, Gates replied directly to LeBron after the father of three seemed to refer to him as a “peasant.”
“The truth hurts, but it heals,” he said before telling the Olympian that he loved him.
“Long as you being celebrated, I don’t care who don’t like me,” Gates continued. “Long as you being celebrated, that’s all I care about. I don’t care if I gotta fallout with somebody, I love to get the results.”
