The first teaser trailer for Predator: Badlands has been released.
Predator: Badlands is the upcoming horror movie directed by Dan Trachtenberg. Starring Elle Fanning, the film will be released in United States theaters this coming November.

What happens in the Predator: Badlands trailer?
The Predator: Badlands trailer is set in the future on an alien planet. The film will be different from previous entries in the franchise as the Predator will serve as the protagonist this time around rather than as a villain.
“Predator: Badlands, which stars Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, is set in the future on a remote planet, where a young Predator (Schuster-Koloamatangi), outcast from his clan, finds an unlikely ally in Thia (Fanning) and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary,” the official synopsis reads.
Trachtenberg said about the movie, via Empire Magazine, “The creature is front and center, leading the charge. He’s still badass, but there’s something there that touches you emotionally, too. Creating a character you connect with, but are also super-intimidated by, has been challenging. But exciting.
“…[The idea came from wanting to] find another essential piece of cinema that does what Prey did spiritually — pushing the franchise’s boundaries, letting us root for a hero we rarely get to root for — but in a different way. And that transformed into this big idea of rooting for the Predator.”
Trachtenberg previously directed Prey, the Predator movie that was released on Hulu in 2022 and stars Amber Midthunder. Prior to that, he made 10 Cloverfield Lane in 2016 and has also helmed episodes of Black Mirror and The Boys.
Another Predator movie is being released before Predator: Badlands. According to industry insider Jeff Sneider, that movie, which will be animated, is titled Predator: Killer of Killers and will see the titular creature work “their way through three different kinds of warriors.”
Fanning recently played Sylvie Russo in 2024’s A Complete Unknown. Her filmography also includes 2011’s Super 8, 2014’s Maleficent, 2016’s 20th Century Women, 2017’s The Beguiled, and more.
Predator: Badlands will be released in United States theaters on November 7, 2025, from 20th Century Studios.
