Katy Perry kicked off her Lifetimes tour just days after coming back down to Earth — literally — after her trip to space sparked controversy.
Perry, who was one of the six passengers on Blue Origin’s historic all-female flight, performed in Mexico City on Wednesday, April 23, asking the crowd, per E! News, “Has anyone ever called your dreams crazy?”

The “Roar” artist also pulled up two fans bedecked in blue spacesuits for the space-themed show.
“I want these gentlemen to come on stage because they are dressed as my most current timeline,” Perry announced to the audience, per fan footage of the moment. As the “E.T.” singer was ready to embrace the two concert-goers as they rushed on stage, they first knelt before her and bowed in appreciation.
As fans know, the Blue Origin flight has been criticized by many, including multiple celebrities, who believe that space tourism is environmentally problematic and highlights the wealth disparity in America — money, critics claim, that could instead go to charities and helping others.
Perry catapulted into space on April 14, alongside a crew that included other famous faces like Jeff Bezos’ fiancee Lauren Sanchez and CBS anchor Gayle King. After hitting zero G, the singer debuted her Lifetimes tour setlist while floating freely in the capsule.
