Ask almost any diehard Bravo fan, and they’ll say that The Valley is one of the most dramatic shows on the network. To the point that some viewers feel there are scenes they shouldn’t be watching due to their personal nature. Though not the cast members with the most drama, Kristen Doute and Luke Broderick are among the fan favorites. Now, she’s opening up about the show’s second season, the beef between Scheana Shay and Lisa Vanderpump, and more in a new interview.
Regarding Kristen and LVP, she has been one of the former Vanderpump Rules cast members who has held the former RHOBH star’s feet to the fire for what she describes as unfair treatment toward the women on her shows in comparison to how she treats the men. In recent years, the same has been true for Scheana.
According to US Weekly, Kristen recently sat down for an interview with The Bi** Bible podcast, where she spoke about the strained relationship Lisa has with some of her former female cast members, namely Scheana. She began by saying, “Look at all the girls coming out now that have been waiting to not be on any show with [Vanderpump]. Scheana, Katie [Maloney].”
She also hinted at why LVP may have harsh feelings for Scheana these days. Kristen revealed, “When Scheana’s book comes out, she told me that there’s a lot of tea about Lisa in there that the world would like to know about. So I think she’s now on the bottom — she’s like the s*** on the bottom of Lisa’s shoe now.”
This comes after Scheana said on Two Ts In a Pod, “I don’t talk to her too often. She usually calls when she needs something.” She then said, “That was recent when I talked to her. She had a question about a friend of mine on another show of hers, and that was pretty much it.”
Still, Lisa recently said in her Hot Mic interview that she loves her former cast members “regardless of their antics and their foibles.”
Back to Kristen, she also interviewed with Access Hollywood. One of the first questions was about when she and Luke plan to get married. Notably, they’re expecting their first child later this year. Kristen explained their timeline by saying, “After baby. We had about 3 weeks between engagement and pregnancy, so it was like we didn’t get time to really have fun as an engaged couple.”
After that, they began to discuss season two of The Valley and how this installment is more dramatic than the first. In explaining how that’s possible, the expecting mother said, “I mean, it is possible. I just saw the first episode. In the first two minutes, my jaw was on the floor, and there’s so much that even though we were a part of it, we didn’t necessarily film certain scenes, or we weren’t there for certain things, and it just like smacks you right in the face and there is so much to come.”
She’s then asked about being in the middle of the Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor drama. In essence, she admits that what they are going through is tough on them both, but that Brittany will always be her “number one.” She also says she looks up to Brittany as a parent.
Finally, the topic of Ally Lewber revealing that LVP told her to rekindle things with James Kennedy following his arrest also came up in the interview. Regarding her thoughts on the matter, she shared, “Unfortunately, I’m not surprised. I actually heard it right before Nick and Natalie’s podcast came out.”
Kristen continued, “I was with Scheana this past weekend, and Scheana gave me the heads up on that. Yeah, unfortunately, I’m not surprised at all. It’s kind of a given. Ally and I are not close. I don’t know her very well but I’ve told her this and I’ve said it pretty publicly that I’m just as like a woman, as someone who knows what kind of position she’s been in, I’m really proud of her for putting herself first and getting out while she can and not wasting the next ten years of her life.”
Fans can watch The Valley on Tuesday nights.
