Alondra Hobbs, a 29-year-old Georgia mom, has been sentenced years after the mummified body of her 7-year-old disabled daughter, Alivia Jordan, was found in an abandoned apartment closet.

Alondra Hobbs, The 29-Year-Old Georgia Mom, Is Sentenced For Allegedly Abandoning Her Disabled Daughter In Apartment Closet
According to Fox 5 Atlanta, on April 23, Hobbs entered a “non-negotiated” guilty plea on charges of “malice murder, two counts of felony murder, and two counts of cruelty to children in the first degree.” That same day, Hobbs was reportedly sentenced to life in prison without parole.
“Alivia Jordan did not deserve the slow, painful, and lonely death she suffered at the hands of her mother,” District Attorney Sherry Boston reportedly stated amid the case. “I hope her family finds some comfort in knowing that Alondra Hobbs is being held fully accountable. I want parents to know that abandoning a child is never the right choice, and help is available for those who are struggling.”

More Details On The Discovery Of The Mummified Body Of Alivia Jordan, Her 7-Year-Old Disabled Daughter
As The Shade Room previously reported, Hobbs was arrested in June 2023. At the time, it was reported that Hobbs was charged with felony murder and second-degree cruelty to children. Prior to this, a neighbor at the Hidden Valley Apartments complex reportedly noticed that a door to one of the units was “wide open.” When he walked closer, he noticed a “foul odor.”
Once inside, the man noticed that a closet door was open. Subsequently, he noticed a “human arm.”
“You could tell it was a young girl by what she had on and by her hair… She looked like a mummy,” she reportedly told the press.

According to Fox 5 Atlanta, more specifically, Jordan’s body was found “strapped in a stroller inside a bedroom closet.” Once officers arrived, they reportedly found Jordan’s body in a “severely decomposed state.” Furthermore, during the investigation, Hobbs reportedly admitted to leaving her daughter in the closet “confined to a stroller” before abandoning the apartment.
Hobbs reportedly told investigators that taking care of her daughter became “too much.” Per the outlet, Jordan was “autistic and suffered from seizures due to cerebral palsy.”
