But, before that, they stop by Joel Miller’s grave at Jackson’s cemetery. Ellie leaves several coffee beans as a farewell gift to Joel. This is a clever tribute to Joel, who loved coffee, whereas Ellie hated it.
Joel’s love for coffee was showcased on The Last of Us Season 1 Episode 4, “Please Hold to My Hand.” It featured Ellie noticing Joel making coffee, but she doesn’t appear to like it.
