More Details On Misa Hylton Reportedly Filing $5 Million Lawsuit Against Mary J. Blige
On Monday, April 28, AllHipHop published an exclusive report asserting that Blige is being sued by Hylton and her management company, M.I.S.A. Management. Per the outlet, Hylton is alleging that Blige “sabotaged” her business relationship with rapper Vado.
More specifically, Blige is accused of “withholding Vado’s completed album to pressure him into cutting ties with Hylton.” Furthermore, the suit asserts that Blige’s management company, Beautiful Life Productions, interfered with a “signed management agreement” between Vado and M.I.S.A. The agreement reportedly entitled M.I.S.A. to 20% of the rapper’s earnings.
More On Mary J. Blige’s Alleged Actions With Vado
The suit asserts that Blige “persuaded Vado to break his management deal” during “private yacht gatherings, hotel meetings and exclusive events” where M.I.S.A. was absent. Furthermore, Blige’s security chief and boyfriend allegedly told the rapper he would “lose out on opportunities” if he stayed signed to M.I.S.A.
Per the outlet, Vado and M.I.S.A. reportedly signed their management contract on July 25, 2023. However, Blige’s interference is noted with a “recording deal” reportedly signed on October 1, 2023.
Lastly, the suit notes that Vado reportedly completed an album in July 2024. However, it has allegedly been shelved by Blige along with opportunities for the rapper to tour “as long as he stayed with M.I.S.A.”
AllHipHop reports that the singer’s alleged actions left Vado in “economic servitude.” The suit is reportedly seeking $5 million for “breach of contract, emotional distress, and interference with business relationships.” The suit also reportedly notes that an injunction be set in place to prevent future alleged disruption from Blige and her company.
To note, neither Hylton, Blige, nor Vado has publicly commented on the reported lawsuit. Furthermore, amid news of the suit, a clip dated from January 2024 has resurfaced showing Blige speaking about Vado.
