A wild story out of Florida has gone viral after it was revealed that a Florida man was arrested for having three wives in different counties—all at the same time. According to ABC Action News, Henry Betsey Jr. is now facing felony bigamy charges after three women—who each thought they were his only wife—found out they were married to the same man.
Each woman met Henry on a different dating app, and they all tied the knot with him just weeks after meeting—at separate courthouses across Florida.
How the Florida Man Allegedly Married Three Women in Three Counties
Tonya Betsey met Henry Betsey Jr. on Tinder in 2020, and the two were married at the Duval County Courthouse on November 24 of that year. Despite still being legally married to Tonya, Henry later met Brandi Betsey on the dating app Stir and married her in Manatee County on February 22, 2022. Not long after, he connected with Michele Betsey through Match.com and married her in Hernando County on November 23, 2022—while still married to Tonya and Brandi.
Tonya was the first to uncover the truth after she got suspicious and started checking county records online.
“I just started county by county, putting in his name. And that’s when I came up with the marriage to Michele and the marriage to Brandi,”.
Michele, completely unaware of Tonya or Brandi, was stunned.
“There was nothing flagged in the system,” she said. “We got married right there at the courthouse. No questions asked.”
All three women were deceived by Henry’s aliases, manipulations, and love-bombing tactics.
The Arrest and Fallout: Victims Speak Out As Details Surface
Henry Betsey Jr. was arrested in Seminole County last year after Tonya filed a police report and submitted evidence of his multiple marriages. Authorities charged him with felony bigamy, and his name is now being searched statewide as more details surface.
According to reports, Henry targeted recently divorced women on platforms like Bumble, presenting himself as charming, attentive, and ready to settle down. But behind the scenes, he was using the same playbook—quick weddings, fast access to money, and controlling behavior.
Brandi said he tried to convince her to open a joint bank account just five days into their marriage. When he turned verbally aggressive, she kicked him out.
“He was a completely different person,” she told ABC.“It got scary fast.”
Michele echoed the same warning.
“He was charming at first, but once I saw the truth, I ran.”
As of now, Henry has filed for divorce from Tonya and is seeking annulments from both Michele and Brandi.
From Dating Apps to Courthouses, Deception Ran Deep
This wild Florida tale isn’t just about one man’s lies—it’s about how easy it can be to exploit a system that doesn’t talk between counties. The fact that a Florida man was arrested for having three wives in different counties highlights the loopholes in marriage recordkeeping and the real dangers women face in the digital dating era.
Thanks to Tonya’s curiosity and courage, the truth came out—and hopefully, justice will follow.
