Now y’all know fans are passionate, but this right here? Whew. A self-proclaimed dedicated fan of Colorado football just filed a $100 million lawsuit against the NFL over Shedeur Sanders falling to the fifth round in the 2025 NFL Draft. Yes, you read that right—one hundred million dollars.

The enraged fan claims the NFL violated several laws, but it doesn’t stop there—he’s also accusing the league of intentionally causing him emotional distress after witnessing Sanders’ unexpected draft fall.

But what really has this fan fired up? Well, let’s just say the details behind his claims go deeper than what’s been made public. There are whispers of certain behind-the-scenes conversations and events that may have played a role in Sanders’ draft slide. According to sources, there’s more to the story than meets the eye, and it’s clear this fan believes there’s something far bigger at play here.

Shedeur Sanders Fan Sues NFL Over Sanders’ Draft

The man, listed as John Doe, is claiming the league violated antitrust, civil rights, and consumer protection laws. He also threw in intentional infliction of emotional distress. The fan reasoned that he watched his fave drop to 144th overall to the Cleveland Browns—expecting Shedeur to be a first-round pick.

Now, here’s where it gets wild: The fan is alleging that NFL owners colluded to tank Sanders’ draft stock after negative reports and leaked statements about his interview behavior surfaced. The lawsuit even hints at racial discrimination playing a role in the decision-making process, further fueling the fan’s outrage.

And baby, the demands are wild. This fan wants $100 million, a formal apology from the NFL, acknowledgment of his emotional distress (yes, his), and more. Most specifically, the fan’s lawsuit seeks a “formal acknowledgment from the NFL regarding the emotional distress caused by [them]” and a “retraction of the slanderous statements made about Shedeur Sanders.” Not to mention, he also wants an “apology for any harm caused to his reputation.” Lastly, he seeks implementation of “fairer practices in the drafting process” so players are given opportunities based on merit.

More Details On The Lawsuit

The complaint, filed in Georgia federal court, is currently under review by a district court judge. The lawsuit has already stirred major buzz, with the fan accusing the NFL of multiple legal violations. He also claims racial discrimination factored into Shedeur Sanders’ unexpected slide to the fifth round, despite Sanders putting up top-tier numbers that had many projecting him as a first-round pick. According to Doe, he became a fan after watching Sanders light up the field against TCU back in 2023, calling his talent “exceptional.”

Meanwhile, Sanders is gearing up to suit up for the Cleveland Browns this season, following a standout final year at Colorado. His impressive stats—over 4,000 passing yards, 37 touchdowns, and a 74% completion rate—are a testament to his elite talent, leaving many fans scratching their heads over his draft position. Despite the legal drama and the controversy, one thing’s for sure: fan loyalty is on a whole new level.

Celebs And Fans Have Backed Sanders Since Draft

While neither Shedeur Sanders nor the NFL has commented on the ongoing lawsuit, the support for Sanders has been overwhelming. Celebrities like Yung Miami and Shenseea have publicly shown love, making sure to root for Sanders during the draft. They weren’t the only ones—fans have been rallying behind him, voicing their frustration over his fifth-round selection and showing unwavering support for the quarterback’s future. Despite the legal drama, it’s clear that Sanders’ fanbase has his back.
