Shamea Morton was questioned about Angela Oakley‘s handling of Porsha Williams‘ suggestion that she should sleep with her husband, Charles Oakley, and her laughing about the matter on Sunday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live.
As the statement continues to be a hot topic amongst the women, the 42-year-old Real Housewives of Atlanta star reacted to Angela, 43, being quicker to forgive Porsha, 43, as she targeted Angela’s instigating, shaded Porsha’s “victim” behavior, broke down about the end of their decades-long friendship, and more.
“[Porsha’s] not my child. That’s my friend. If you feel some kind of way about what she’s saying, you say something to her. You check her,” Shamea stated on the May 11 episode of WWHL after being asked why she acted as if Angela had overreacted to what Porsha had said. “You hugged her, embraced her, and you moved on rather quickly, but you’re still mad at me for laughing.”
“At the end of the day, you can’t keep a man that doesn’t want to be kept. If she can actually pull Charles to sleep with him, then did you really have him? I say the same thing about my husband before you say, ‘If the shoe was turned around, or if it was on the other foot, how would you react?’ I would laugh. Because if you can take Charles from me, good riddance,” she added.
Amid her drama with Porsha, Shamea found herself questioning Angela’s intentions after watching how she relayed the feeling she expressed about their friendship.
“These were Angela’s feelings, not saying that she was wrong about a lot of it. But when she brought it back to Porsha, it was like she was stirring the pot, almost like instigating things, and I’m noticing that’s what she does a lot,” Shamea stated. “She’ll bring things back like, ‘Oh it’s lopsided,’ but these are your words, sis, I never said that to you.”
According to Shamea, she would “never confide” in Angela because they “just met.”
Overall, Shamea felt that the cast was too involved in her relationship issues with Porsha — and that Porsha allowed them to be.
“The ladies will come and be like, ‘Hey, I heard she didn’t come to your wedding.’ And I’m like, that’s true. ‘That must’ve hurt you.’ And I’m like, ‘Absolutely. It was a very hurtful thing, but we moved past it.’ ‘Yeah, but it seems like you’re always there for her and speaking up for her, and she doesn’t do the same for you,’” Shamea explained. “But they would’ve never been able to do that if it was just me. The fact that she opened up and allowed for our friendship to be open for discussion, it fools me. I don’t understand it.”
Looking back at how Porsha continued to call herself a “piece of sh*t” amid a group discussion on Sunday’s RHOA, Shamea suggested Porsha was trying to gain sympathy.
“‘Woe is me, let me make myself the victim,’ and that is something that you are not,” she declared.
When asked if Porsha’s comment about her sounding like Drew Sidora, 40, on her song was the final straw in their relationship, Shamea admitted she was “absolutely frustrated” by it before signaling off-camera discussions.
“I want to give her [grace] without seeming like I’m trying to put her out there. My parents always raised me, things that happen in the household, let them stay in our household. Our business is our business, so that’s how I was trying to operate,” Shamea reasoned. “[But] apparently, we’re not that close. We ain’t really friends like that … all of those [things Porsha said] are digs and things, but girl, whatever. I got it now, I heard you. After 20 years, you still don’t like my a**.”
While Shamea has been accused of being Porsha’s lapdog, she clarified that she was simply a loyal friend.
“They say lapdog, I say loyalty, and I’ll never feel bad about being a loyal and a good friend because when I exit the friendship, after being that lapdog or that loyal person, I can feel good about it, knowing that, you know what? I treated this friendship like I would’ve wanted her to treat it, and I have no regrets,” she stated.
Then, when Andy Cohen, 56, said he hoped she and Porsha had simply hit a “road bump” and not the end of their friendship, Shamea described herself as “done.”
“I’m stopping. I’m not doing anything more. I’m done. At this point, it’s mercy. Grace has already been extended. I want some things to be reciprocated to me.” she revealed. “I want some of that same loyalty. Because I didn’t know that we were beefing even. I didn’t know that she didn’t come to my wedding because we were apparently beefing, so we were beefing, then why would you come to the one in Atlanta and not the one [in Kenya]? It’s just a lot of confusion, and I hate it.”
After becoming emotional during the commercial break over her falling out with Porsha, Shamea explained her heartbreak.
“This is what I thought was my real friend for years. It’s like a relationship. It’s not something you can just get over overnight … Porsha is somebody I felt like was my sister,” she shared, again starting to cry. “Oh my gosh, I cry too much.”
Moving on to her efforts to expand her family, Shamea said that while surrogacy is “going well,” there’s no news to report.
“I still don’t have a baby on the way, which is kinda sad,” she noted. “I think somebody asked me once, ‘How would you feel if you found out Gerald had an outside baby?’ I again would be like, ‘Bring me the baby.’ That’ll save me a few more injections and a few more coins because surrogacy is not cheap.”
When questioned about whose marriage would last longer between Angela and Charles, and Brittany “Brit” Eady and Michael Cunningham, Shamea said, “Definitely Angela and Charles.”
“Are Brit and Michael even married?” she asked. “She’s still ‘Brit Eady’ and she’s still only wearing one ring.”
Shamea also questioned Angela’s age.
“Didn’t she say in her confessional she was almost 60? Oh, she said almost six feet. Same thing!” she joked. “[But] them hot flashes are not 43. Cut it out, girl, but she’s still cute. [I think she’s] almost 60.”
Moving on to her meeting with Ralph, Shamea said that she’d previously worked with Drew’s estranged husband and insisted their meet-up was “no awkward thing.”
“He reached out and wanted some advice on a podcast. I was like, ‘Absolutely.’ But what I need is a little proof, a third party, in case something goes wrong,” she explained of why she brought Porsha along. “I don’t need anybody in the streets saying that Shamea is hanging out and going out with Ralph. So Porsha was [like], ‘Hey.’ I can get a little extra tea as well as help him out with his podcast.”
Also on the live broadcast, Shamea reacted to Phaedra leaving Married to Medicine and joining RHOA.
“She’s hopping around, isn’t she? Where will she go next? Will she stay with us?” Shamea wondered.
All jokes aside, Shamea said she welcomes anyone who wants to be a part of the show, especially Phaedra, who, despite their past issues, came in with a “good warm energy.”
“[I was] a little bit nervous because of how my last interaction with her was,” Shamea noted, signaling how Phaedra “could’ve ruined [her] engagement” to husband Gerald Mwangi. “I was nervous. But she came back, she was kind, and it was warm and inviting, so I’m moving forward with that.”
