Fans were recently fooled into thinking that Billie Eilish had attended the Met Gala 2025. This sparked when photos supposedly showing her at the dazzling fashion event spread online. However, the 23-year-old singer has recently set the record straight on her Met Gala appearance and involvement. As such, fans have become curious about what Eilish said.
So, did Billie Eilish attend the Met Gala or not? Here is how the singer reacted to the photos supposedly showing her at the event.
Billie Eilish addresses her fake AI Met Gala 2025 photos
Billie Eilish took to Instagram stories to address the Met Gala 2025 photos of herself that had been circulating online and the subsequent backlash she received. She revealed that those photos were AI-generated and that she was on tour in Europe at the time of the event.
“Seeing people talk about what I wore to this year’s Met Gala ‘being trash,’” Eilish shared, while eating ice cream. “I wasn’t there! That’s AI. I had a show in Europe that night. Let me be! I wasn’t even there!” (via Rolling Stone).
On May 4 and 5, the nights the Met Gala 2025 took place, Eilish gave performances at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome. She had also performed at this venue on May 7. These performances were a part of the Birds of a Feather singer’s European leg of her Hit Me Hard and Soft Tour.
Billie Eilish wasn’t the only victim of AI photos being used to deceive fans into thinking a particular celebrity attended the Met Gala 2025. Fans were recently duped by several AI photos into believing that Katy Perry had also attended the event. Perry eventually set the record straight via an Instagram post. In the post, Perry said that she couldn’t attend the event as she was occupied with her Lifetimes Tour.
