According to FOX 2 Detroit, Detroit-based rapper Skilla Baby was shot multiple times, grazed in the head, in a “targeted” drive-by shooting in Redford, Michigan.

Sources told the outlet that while in a black SUV, Skilla Baby was shot multiple times Thursday evening (May 22). Eventually, he crashed into the side of a building off of 8 Mile Road near Beech Daly Road in Redford Township. After the shooting and subsequent crash, the suspect fled the scene.
Redford Township Police responded to the scene and are currently investigating the incident. Authorities are now working to determine what led up to the shooting and who is responsible. At the scene of the crime, tons of evidence markers littered the road. Several bullet casings were also scattered across the highway, indicating a high volume of gunfire.

FOX 2 reported that Skilla Baby, born Trevon Gardner, was shot multiple times and sent to a hospital. Sources told the outlet that the rapper was grazed twice in the head and back and shot in the hand. The publication further reported that the rapper was alert upon arriving at the hospital and expected to survive.
On Instagram, Metro Detroit News first reported that the incident happened around 7:00 p.m. on Eastbound 8 Mile near Telegraph Road. The outlet also reported that the rapper was grazed in the head and shot in the hand. The outlet shared footage from the scene.f In it, a black Chevrolet Tahoe was seen smashed through a brick building with its airbags deployed. The SUV also had multiple bullet holes in the door.

Furthermore, a report published by AllHipHop reported that the rapper suffered a graze wound to the back of his head, a graze wound to his back, and a gunshot wound to his hand. They continued to report that other outlets initially stated that he was also shot in the leg. In an updated news broadcast, FOX 2’s Jessica Dupnack reported that Skilla Baby remains alert in the hospital. As he recovers, he is surrounded by his loved ones and has been placed under high security.
Skilla Baby is considered one of Detroit’s most prominent and fast-rising Hip-Hop artists. He has garnered success both locally in his hometown and nationally in America. Skilla Baby released his most recent project, ‘Crack Music 3,’ last November. The project features guest appearances from Tee Grizzley, Peezy, Hunxho, Toosii, and more. He has also gone viral with joint track “You Look Good,” with rapper Cartier.
