Malice – Review: Where’s the malice?

If you’re heading into the long holiday weekend hoping for something great to watch on Netflix, then you’re in luck.

The recent update to the 10 most popular movies on Netflix includes several new additions, including I Still Believe, a romantic drama based on a true story.

Untold: The Fall of Farve is also high on the charts, and it goes from a rousing sports documentary to a sordid true crime tale. For younger viewers, or viewers who are young at heart, The Wild Robot is making its Netflix debut this weekend.

Keep reading for more info about the Watch With Us team’s picks for the three popular Netflix movies that you need to watch now. You’ve got an extra day this weekend, so use it!

This May, Netflix is quieter than usual. While the streamer has already premiered high-profile shows like The Four Seasons with Steve Carell and Tina Fey, its movie slate is comparatively lighter and less filled with stars. That’s not to say that Netflix didn’t add any good movies to watch this month. On the contrary, there […]

‘Untold: The Fall of Favre’ (2025)

There’s a reason why Untold: The Fall of Favre is hanging around the No. 1 slot on Netflix’s most popular movie list. Brett Favre was once among the most popular players in the NFL. As a quarterback, he led the Green Bay Packers to their first Super Bowl win in decades. He even had a cameo in There’s Something About Mary opposite Ben Stiller and Cameron Diaz.

Things have changed a lot since then, and Untold: The Fall of Favre dives into the scandals surrounding the former NFL superstar. Favre hasn’t been charged with any crime, but his close proximity to the misuse of welfare funds in Mississippi has drawn a lot of scrutiny. Jenn Sterger, the woman who accused Favre of sending unwanted sexting messages, goes on the record in this movie and details how he negatively impacted her life.

‘I Still Believe’ (2020)

Riverdale‘s KJ Apa headlines I Still Believe, a music biopic currently heating up Netflix’s movie chart. This film is based on the true story of Christian music singer Jeremy Camp and the first great love of his life, Melissa Henning, who is played by Britt Robertson. Set in 2000, I Still Believe chronicles how Jeremy and Melissa become fast friends. Eventually, they start dating each other until their romance affects their mutual friendship with Jean-Luc Lajoie (Nathan Parsons), who loves Melissa and wants her for himself.

A new month means new movies and TV shows on Netflix. But it also means a lot is leaving Netflix in May. In the first week of May alone, the horror sequel Insidious: The Red Door and the emotional drama The Peanut Butter Falcon are among the dozens of movies that will be heading to […]

When Melissa is stricken with cancer, Jeremy reaffirms his love for her with Jean-Luc’s blessing. But beating cancer may be more than either Jeremy or Melissa can handle, and his faith in God is tested when her health starts to fail. This film is definitely a tearjerker, but it’s also life-affirming.

‘The Wild Robot’ (2024)

Although The Wild Robot came up short at the Oscars earlier this year, it’s still one of the best movies that DreamWorks Animation has ever made. Any comparisons to Pixar’s WALL-E are apt, but Lupita Nyong’o‘s title character gets to speak more often than WALL-E does. Nyong’o portrays Roz, a robot who is lost in the wild before she is accidentally reactivated by the animals that live there.

Many of the creatures in the forest regard Roz with fear and condemn her as a monster. But some, like a fox named Fink (Pedro Pascal) and an opossum called Pinktail (Catherine O’Hara), accept Roz as their friend after she learns how to communicate with them. Roz also finds new meaning in her existence when she adopts an orphaned goose she names Brightbill (Kit Connor). She could stay in the wild and be happy forever if the company that made her hadn’t sent Vontra (Stephanie Hsu) to retrieve her. Now that Roz has a home, she won’t easily give up everything she’s gained.

The Wild Robot is streaming on Netflix.
