Scheana Shay has a “trauma response” when she receives calls from her former boss and Vanderpump Rules co-star, Lisa Vanderpump.
Following some public back-and-forth, Scheana, 40, admitted to being triggered by Lisa, 64, whom she accused of calling her only when she “needs something,” as she also looked back on the hardest moment she filmed for Pump Rules.
“I literally have a trauma response when she calls me,” Scheana said on the May 16 episode of Scheananigans, via Us Weekly. “It’s always something. It was [always,] like, what I did wrong or what could I do for her? The last time she called me, it was a question about [Marciano Brunette] and [Demi Engemann]. Nothing about me or anything like that.”
According to Scheana, Lisa last called her with questions about the cast of Vanderpump Villa. However, she wasn’t receptive to Lisa’s questions because she didn’t feel that she owed her a thing.
“She was just like, ‘I need you to tell me exactly what happened.’ And I’m like, ‘I don’t owe you anything,’” she recalled. “But also, ‘If you’re thinking this about my friends, I’m going to tell you the truth because I don’t want my friends getting in trouble for something that’s not true.’”
During another podcast, Bravo Bravo F’ing Bravo with Kate Chastain, via Bravo’s The Daily Dish, Scheana shared that while she went through “a lot” of hard moments on Pump Rules, her season 10 drama with Tom Sandoval, 42, was the toughest of all.
“Having to just really take a side, tell him how I felt, and no amount of tears, I was like, ‘I’m not gonna let any of this get to me,’” Scheana shared, reflecting on Tom’s affair with Rachel “Raquel” Leviss, 30.
Because Scheana was so close to Ariana Madix, 39, “it was hard” for her to be stuck in between the two, especially since Ariana was her “best friend for 15 years.”
“Sandoval and I have been friends for 14 years. We opened up Villa Blanca together back in 2009. I met him way before Ariana,” she noted.
According to Scheana, her association with Sandoval led to personal hardships.
“I remember we were doing the red carpet, and no one wanted me in the photos,” she revealed. “And he put his arm around me, and he pulled me, and he was just like, ‘No, you’re a part of this; you’re with all of us.’”
Also, during her interview with Kate, Scheana said her new book, My Good Side, is “all about me.”
“It’s my story, and I feel like I’m finally taking the narrative into my own hands and putting it all out there, which, honestly, I’m quite terrified because there’s a lot of things I’ve never spoken about that are in this book,” she said. “There are a lot of people who are going to be named in the book. There will be people who I’m sure are upset about some things that are said about them in the book, but it’s my truth.”
