A new promo for Superman may have just spilled some oversized blue guts… literally.
While promoting the upcoming wave of Superman movie toys, a new commercial aired that shows Superman teaming up with Green Lantern (Guy Gardner), Hawkgirl, and Mister Terrific to take down a monstrous Kaiju.
They absolutely wreck it, ending with the creature’s glowing blue innards pouring out into the streets. Yeah, that definitely feels like something James Gunn would do.
Sure, toy commercials aren’t always a one-to-one reflection of a movie’s plot. But it’s been known for a while now that Superman would be squaring off against a giant Kaiju creature in the film, as it’s been shown in the trailers.
So the idea that this battle, complete with a gory, gooey finish is loosely based on a scene from the actual movie is totally believable. If what we’re seeing in the spot is accurate, we’re in for a gloriously weird and action-packed ride.
We also get our best look yet at the heroes’ updated costumes in some new photos.
