With Heidi Montag‘s recent appearance at the 2025 American Music Awards red carpet turning many heads, her husband, Spencer Pratt, has come out to share some encouraging words for his partner. Montag’s decision to wear a blonde wig seemingly drew mixed reactions from fans on the internet, causing The Princes of Malibu alum to respond to the resulting controversy via social media.
Here’s what Spencer Pratt had to say about the ordeal surrounding Heidi Montag’s wig.
On May 26, Heidi Montag showed up on the 2025 AMAs red carpet donning a stunning blue dress by The Blonds. Alongside her sparkly outfit, the “One More Drink” singer also sported a blonde wig, which has since garnered questionable reactions from fans.
Responding to one such fan on TikTok, who wrote, “I love love love her, but you should’ve stopped that wig,” Pratt noted, “Only 3 days if you love her buy the Heidiwood album so she can afford better wigs in the future. Fancy wigs cost like 20k ask Beyoncè.”
Spencer Pratt then took to Instagram to reply to the same comment by posting a clip of Heidi Montag attending the 2025 AMAs, with a different caption, writing, “For the wig haters please pre order HEIDIWOOD now so that future wigs have more budget?”
The reality television personality took another shot at the criticism surrounding his wife’s recent fashion choices by responding to a Page Six article, covering the same topic, via a second TikTok video. In the clip, he noted, “A lot of people loved the wig. A lot of people didn’t love it so much, but you know what, we’re very thankful to be at the American Music Awards and having anyone talking about Heidi’s hair. What a blessing.” Spencer Pratt concluded his message, defending Heidi Montag’s decision to wear the much-discussed wig, by saying, “I’m so thankful that so many people care so much about Heidi and they want her to look the best she possibly can on a red carpet and a lot of people even loved the wig so its all good.”
