Jennifer Lopez Doesn’t Care What Critics Think About ‘Lesbian Kiss At AMAs

Jennifer Lopez is not batting an eye at the backlash that has surfaced after she locked lips with a female dancer at the 2025 American Music Awards in Las Vegas on Monday.

According to a new report, the singer is living her best life and has “zero f-cks” to give to those making fun of her at the award ceremony.

Jennifer Lopez also revealed plans for her first “free” summer since divorcing ex-husband Ben Affleck, explaining that she can’t wait to “make people sing and dance” over the coming weeks.

Lopez left many fans stunned when she kissed a female dancer during her opening performance at the 2025 AMAs on Monday evening.

Netizens subsequently took to social media to call her out, with some bashing her for what they thought was a “desperate” attempt to make her ex-husband Ben Affleck jealous.

However, an insider has shared that the “Maid In Manhattan” star had the moment to show critics she doesn’t care about what they think.

“JLo followed the direction of her PR and she did exactly what she was told to do for her post-Ben [Affleck] comeback,” the source told the Daily Mail. “She is living her best life and has zero f-cks to give right now.”

The source added, “She dealt with so much uncertainty, but she was brave. She did not allow the negative commentary to bring her down. Instead, she kept going and living her life.”

In a chat with People Magazine, Lopez reflected on the progression in her career and how it feels surreal that she has been involved in so many other editions of the award show, but as a performer.

“I’ve been part of this award show for so long and being part of the American music scene for so many years now, and I can’t believe how many times I’ve actually performed on the American Music Awards. I think it’s 10 times! Something crazy,” the mother of two told the publication.

She added, “I was seeing one of my very first performances the other day. We were just looking at it to see the progression of the stuff that we’ve done… It feels all like it was yesterday.”

Lopez showed what she’s made up of on Monday when she hosted the CBS live event at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Las Vegas and began the night by singing and dancing to a six-minute medley of 23 hits by the evening’s nominees.

The “I Ain’t Your Mama” singer brought the star power as she performed a mash-up of hits, including Billie Eilish’s “Birds of a Feather,” Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso,” and Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ‘Em.”

Although her kiss with a female dancer sparked backlash, an insider maintained that Lopez is “actually in the best place she has been in for years.”

Lopez is also set to launch a major comeback as she announced a new Las Vegas residency to be held at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

The singer shared the news on social media after hosting the AMAs: “We’re back! I’m doing a residency in Las Vegas! Join me for Up All Night Live In Las Vegas At The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.”

Lopez is seemingly prepared to make the best of the summer.  According to People Magazine, she explained that she was excited ahead of headlining the WorldPride during Pride Month in Washington, D.C.

“I’m excited to tour. I’m excited first to go do Pride,” Lopez said. “I’m super excited about that. I’m working on that show right now too as we speak, and crafting the tour as well. I’m excited to get back out there.”

“It seems like a perfect summer to celebrate being free and being happy,” she continued. “Just everything in my life right now just feels really healthy and good, and I’m ready to get out there and make people sing and dance and have a good time. That’s always my goal.”

Despite her busy summer schedule, Lopez is dedicated to being present for her kids, Max and Emme.

The “Jenny From The Block” singer plans to make time for the 17-year-olds even as she hits the stage for her performances.

“I think my kids are going to come to Pride because I’m doing more of a concert [at WorldPride], so I’m excited about that,” she said of the twins joining her for her summer gigs, per People.

“They’re sweet. They’re the best,” Lopez noted.
