Chapter 1: RESET. On this episode of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, the ladies are Grenada-bound, but not before Porsha and Drew attempt to sort out their issues. The tit for tat game between them continues and bleeds into the girls’ trip. It was said that Drew has issues with everyone, except Cynthia. This is news to Drew, but the gang up develops and before you know it, this reset seems like it might be taking a wrong turn…
Shamea sees the upcoming Grenada trip as a great opportunity to pay it forward. Because the smaller islands were greatly affected by the recent hurricane, this philanthropic group of women has donated oodles of needs, well everyone except for Brit who claims to get a “late-notice text” regarding donations. Hilarious that she rolls up in a Rolls-Royce, but delivers a few rolls of TP and some tissues. Not a good look.
Brit chats with Kelli and Shamea about her event and what annoyed her, but she also wonders how things between Shamea and Drew are after the lapdog commentary. Kelli points out that the ladies ALL have a lot going on in their lives and so this Grenada trip is the perfect chance for everyone to chill with all the beef. Luckily, Shamea is in a good space with Porsha after their rocky moment.
In an attempt to clear the air before Grenada, Porsha meets with Drew (and her *not* Go Naked hair according to Porsha-always throwing the shade). Porsha is not just mad at Drew for working with Dennis, but also because Drew FILMED with Dennis even after Porsha asked them not to. Drew is adamant that nothing ever happened between her and Dennis, but wonders why Porsha chooses to be mad over the filming since Porsha filmed with Ralph. Ooph, the pettiness. Porsha knew that it would “sting and trigger” Drew if she filmed with Ralph (and she wanted to get her back).
Drew reminds Porsha that she is not dating ANYONE because she is going through a very messy divorce. She vehemently denies dating Black, a name Porsha throws out to the cameras and Drew points out that she, too, can drop names about who Porsha is dating. Zing. Porsha does not want to argue with Drew, but Drew doesn’t like that Porsha is throwing out “false things.” Because things got too hot, Porsha up and leaves. Drew mutters that she can see why Simon left her (and why Shamea is trying to) since Porsha just seems to be projecting her issues.
Everyone is busy packing for Grenada. Kelli shares with her girls that she will be missing their first day of school. Kelli’s publicist, Lamont, has become family at this point, so she’s grateful that she can depend on him for familial issues, considering her ex is evidently no help. Lamont explains that he facetimed Kelli’s ex and Kelli is taken aback by this news. She feels like Lamont called her ex to try and do the right thing, but it seems like nothing good came from the call. It is crazy that her ex doesn’t have a desire to see their children and Kelli becomes emotional thinking about how he is not doing right by their kids.
The trip is officially underway as the ladies arrive at the airport. This is Angela‘s first time meeting Phaedra and she is excited to get to know her…even though Phaedra wastes no time throwing shade in the confessional about Angela being the “oldest looking young person” she knows. When they arrive, Shamea’s bags are still in Atlanta and there goes her hopes for looks.
On the way to the hotel, Phaedra asks who is beefing and Drew admits that she seems to be the one beefing with everyone. The resort is beautiful, but Porsha is displeased to learn that she is going to be rooming with people. Kelli welcomes everyone and explains that it is time to reset their energy and mix up the comfort level by assigning unlikely duos to room together. There’s a big game involving shots to figure out what room number they will receive. Drew is once again stuck with twin beds and even Porsha realizes that this is getting laughable at this point
Shamea explains that she is weird with Drew, especially after Drew shouted out the lap dog stuff on Instragram. What’s up with that?! Shamea refers to Drew as “Drewnocchio,” a nod to Pinocchio, since she is infamous for weaving some tales.
While Drew and Cynthia get comfy in their room, Cynthia opens up about her new boo and Drew claims she is not dating anyone. She talks about her sit-down with Porsha and how it went nowhere, especially once she learned that Porsha filmed with Ralph, her soon-to-be ex. It all seems very spiteful, but now that the ladies are seemingly even with the shadiness, can’t they just move on?
Later, Shamea wows us with a carry-on outfit and they all head out to dinner. On the ride there, Phaedra talks about the funeral business, while the other car remains awkwardly silent. We learn that it is Angela’s 8 year wedding anniversary, and yet she is celebrating this milestone with the divorcees.
Over dinner, Kelli tries to reset the energy between Shamea and Drew. Shamea points out that she tried to clear the air, but Drew calling her a lap dog and posting about it, makes things worse. They ping pong back and forth about who said what and Shamea claims she doesn’t like fake friendships. Drew refers to Shamea as a dog (once again) and Porsha jumps in to remind Drew that being called a lap dog deserves an apology.
Shamea and Porsha’s friendship gets brought up by Angela, who claims that no one was prying into their friendship, but rather, Shamea willingly aired these grievances about Porsha with the other ladies. Kelli outright asks Porsha if she thinks she has been a good friend to Shamea, but Porsha tells these ladies to move on and leave it alone.
Kelli feels like Drew has an issue with everyone at the table except for Cynthia, which comes as a surprise to Drew. Drew states that she doesn’t have an issue with Porsha, but she feels like Porsha has issues with her. Porsha defends herself and explains that she gave herself some time, but still has no expectations for a friendship with Drew. Porsha doesn’t like that if Drew is allegedly dating this guy named Black, then why has she let this Dennis rumor go on for so long? (BTW: Porsha only knows about Black because Dennis told her. Woopsie, loose lips).
Kelli tries to be the peace maker with her healing crystal and has all of the ladies agree that it doesn’t feel good to work with someone’s baby daddy AND film with them. Drew acknowledges that the way she moved about it was inappropriate (even though Dennis said he told Porsha), so that’s a win. When Brit gets the crystal and brings up Phaedra’s ex Apollo, who happened to be a guest at her “event,” everyone appears to be holding in their laughter at her try-hard energy. In her confessional, Shamea reminds Brit to “read the room,” since no one is talking about that, but they ARE talking about leaving her event hungry. LOL. After all is said and done, it seems like they have a relatively productive conversation and it’s a solid reset to kick off the trip.
