Keyshia Cole is a lover girl, no doubt.
The “Shoulda Let You Go” songstress recently opened up about her current relationship status following her rocky relationship with rapper Hunxho. On May 29, she told The Breakfast Club crew that while she is single, she may not be ready to mingle yet.
“I haven’t decided to date again. I take compliments,” she said, after confirming her single status. “But am I ready to move on? No.”
Putting her hands up to the left side of her chest she said, “I still got the tattoo here.”
When host Loren Lorosa asked Cole if she plans to remove the tattoo, she didn’t have a definitive answer.

“I don’t know yet. I just haven’t did it,” she said. The “Heaven Sent” singer was asked if she was delaying the tattoo removal because she was hoping to get back with Hunxcho. She responded, “I’m not dating. So it’s not like ‘Oh I’m dating some dude and I’m sitting across the table and I got him on my chest.’ I guess I got too much work to do right now.”
Cole explained that her main focus is on the upcoming work she has to do. Starting in July she’ll be on tour for the 20th anniversary of The Way It Is. She also mentioned that she will be attending the BET Awards on June 9.
When it comes to love, Cole said, “If it happens, it’s like cool. I’m not in a rush to get no tattoo covered up right now. I’m not in a rush to date right now. I just want to appreciate the moment for what it is right now.” She added, “It’s not about love right now, it’s about my fans.”
In the comments of the radio show’s post, fans reacted to Cole’s interview.
“She needs to take a break and love herself again…. You can tell she going crazy,” said one user.
Another wrote, “She is a sucka for love I didn’t know she had the man’s name tatted on her. SMH.”
Others said, “She knew she shouldnt of been messing with that little heathen,” and “This dude is sooo young and for her to think he wanna settle is not a move.”
A fifth person said, “She’s a lover girl. She just needs the right one.”
Cole, 43, confirmed she was dating 25-year-old Hunxcho last year in April after the two were spotted hanging out.
Fast forward to October, when posts were shared of Cole getting her hair done for her birthday, fans noticed some new red ink on her chest. A closer look at the tattoo revealed that it was the name “Ibrahim,” which is Hunxho’s legal first name.
Some people were against their relationship from the beginning, partially due to their age gap. The disapproval increased when the relationship started to get messy. Drama ensued between Cole and femcee Gloss Up, after the two had an online spat over Hunxho in August. Gloss Up claimed she linked with the rapper even when he was dating Cole.
Gloss Up later said he was playing both of the women.
Cole and Hunxho got over that hump, but in November she revealed she was single. But not for long, in December, she rekindled with the “By Tomorrow” artist and posted videos of them together.
By March 2025, the singer shared that she was single again.
