Jax Taylor is being slammed for his treatment of Brittany Cartwright as fans of The Valley call for him to be fired.
After being accused of throwing a table and leaving Brittany’s knee “black and blue,” and of spying on her with home surveillance, Jax, 45, has been labeled “dangerous” and “unhinged.” But is Bravo ready to boot him from its show?
“The fallout has been worse than [Jax] thought. I think he thought that if he prefaced this season by warning everyone his behavior was bad, he thought it would all be swept under the rug. That’s not the case. The cries to get him fired have been louder than he was prepared for,” a source told The U.S. Sun on June 16. “It’s been a blow to his podcast, it’s impacted other business ventures he had in the works.”
Although the network is well aware of fans’ unhappiness with the controversial cast member, the insider confirmed that no decisions have been made — at least not yet.
“Bravo hears the outrage loud and clear, but there have been no talks to fire him yet,” the source shared. “Quite frankly, it would be a different show without Jax so producers are trying to figure out what the future of the show looks like and what’s best for everyone.”
“Getting rid of Jax completely is not yet something they’re willing to do … [but] it’s not completely out of question for the future either,” they added.
Meanwhile, on social media, fans have expressed disgust with Jax and his antics.
“I’m all for reality trash TV but the situation with Jax shouldn’t be in that category. He’s stalking his own family with hidden cameras, he’s clearly unwell and the guy is promoting his bar IN REHAB and Bravo is letting him. It’s uncomfortable to watch,” one person stated.
“Brittany [and] Jax are rapidly turning from toxic marriage to Dateline special in the making,” noted another. “At what point does Bravo intervene and say this isn’t entertainment anymore, it’s actually a dangerous situation?”
A third asked, “Why isn’t Jax Taylor fired from Bravo !? I’m finally watching The Valley and he’s disgusting.”
“Jax needs to be fired. He’s an unhinged, abusive narcissist,” someone else added.
Others said they were “done with [the] show,” stating that Jax should’ve been fired when “he hit his wife.”
“Jax needs to be fired immediately. His behaviour is unacceptable,” an X user agreed.
The Valley season two airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
