More Details On Justin Banta Being Accused Of Secretly Giving His Girlfriend An Abortion Drug, Killing Their Baby
According to USA Today, in September 2024, Banta was expecting a child with his girlfriend, who has not been publicly identified. When the woman informed Banta of her pregnancy, he reportedly offered to cover the costs of an abortion. However, the woman informed Banta she wanted to keep the child.
By October 17, 2024, the woman was six weeks pregnant. On that date, she reportedly went to a doctor’s visit and found the baby to be in good health with a strong heartbeat. Furthermore, that same day, she reportedly met her boyfriend at a coffee shop. Per the woman, she believes Banta put a “Plan C” bill, reportedly known as an abortion drug, into her drink.
The following day, she reportedly found herself fatigued, experiencing heavy bleeding, and decided to go to the emergency room. By October 19, 2024, she lost the child.
“…which she believed was a result of the drugs Banta had previously placed in her drink at the coffee shop without her permission,” the Parker County Sheriff’s Office stated in a press release shared via Facebook.
To note, KKTV reports that Banta is married to another woman. He and the unidentified woman had reportedly been dating for a month. The outlet notes that footage captured him pouring a substance into the woman’s cup. Additionally, the video also captured him giving her cookies at the coffee shop.

Subsequently, authorities interviewed Banta and confiscated his cell phone as evidence.
“Sheriff’s investigators believe Banta, who works at the IT Department of the U.S. Department of Justice, later accessed the phone remotely and performed a ‘reset,’ thereby deleting crucial evidence related to the case,” the Sheriff’s Office asserted.
Additionally, during the investigation, authorities tested the cookies and confirmed they contained “mifepristone and misoprostol,” reportedly used for medical abortions.
Then, earlier this month, on June 6, Banta was arrested and booked into the Parker County Jail. Per USA Today, he was reportedly released on bond that same day. However, he was ultimately charged with “tampering with physical evidence” by Parker County authorities. Additionally, he was charged with capital murder by Tarrant County authorities, due to the alleged crime taking place 37 miles west of Dallas.
Per the outlet, the “capital murder investigation” was manned by multiple Texas agencies, the Secret Service, and even the Federal Bureau of Investigation. CBS News notes that the investigation remains ongoing and Banta is awaiting prosecution in both of his cases.
Justin Banta Is Not The Only Man Accused Of Killing A Baby — A Florida Man Was Sentenced For The Death Of A 2-Year-Old
Justin Banta is not the only individual to make headlines due to the shocking death of a child. As The Shade Room previously reported, Travis Ray Thompson has been accused of severing the spine of his ex-girlfriend’s 2-year-old daughter. Thompson reportedly claimed he was unaware of how the child became injured while in his car. Ultimately, the 2-year-old succumbed to her injuries.
Since then, the medical examiner’s office determined Thompson “applied significant, gradual force to the victim’s upper and lower body,” bending the child’s back and killing her.
