Friendships fizzle on this episode of the Real Housewives of Atlanta. What seemed like a tight bond between Brit and Kelli is no longer, especially because Brit has not checked on Kelli once since Grenada. And while Brit is doing the least for Kelli, she seems like she is doing the most when it comes to stirring up ill will between Porsha and Shamea. But when Shamea finds out about the passing of Porsha’s cousin at the same time everyone else does, it is clear that something in their friendship has changed.
Shamea is so happy to hear that her daughter, Shiloh, is bouncing back. Shiloh was very sick while Shamea was in Grenada, and because Shiloh’s immune system is compromised, everything is a bit more heightened. For instance, when Shamea returned home with strep, she knew enough to take Shiloh for testing. As Shamea looks on proudly at her daughters, she is desperate to give her husband a son. However, the first transfer failed with the surrogate, and so they’ve decided to hold off on expanding their family for a bit.
Phaedra is still a mortician, and she’s also a Reiki healer (who knew?!) and is still raising her two sons. Her younger son loves fashion and has been making his own pants. He is busy working on his own company, and so Phaedra is thrilled to let him showcase his goods at her upcoming black glove service shopping affair in the vault. Only the most elite clients will be invited!
It’s the day of Kelli’s divorce hearing. The music is ominous, and Kelli is feeling all the feels. She is ready to restart her life, but four hours later, she is still not divorced, AND her ex has been jailed because he did not pay child support. Shamea comes to check on Kelli after the sh*tshow of a day, and even Angela calls to touch base with Kelli.
But the one person who has NOT reached out to Kelli is Brit. This is interesting considering that, at one point, the ladies were besties. Kelli is annoyed because she had Brit’s back as a friend, but it doesn’t seem like Brit has her back.
The invites are going out for Phaedra’s black glove shopping affair, and Phaedra is getting excited to give the ladies one helluva shopping experience.
In the meantime, Charles and Kelli are having a cook-off in Williams Sonoma. Kelli has been doing cooking classes and pop-ups with Williams Sonoma, so she thought this would be a great setting to take Angela‘s challenge and put Charles’ cooking skills to the test. She has also invited Drew, Angela, and Phaedra, and it is glaring that Brit is off the guest list.
Speaking of Brit, she has Cynthia and Porsha over at her house. She has decided to take Phaedra’s advice to open up and build more with the group. Brit tells the ladies that she has been having a “situation” with Kelli. And yes, it has to do with a glam squad that the ladies once shared. Kelli told the team they could no longer work with Brit since Brit wanted to take every single person from her team. The most interesting catch is that the team is allowed to work with Shamea AND Kelli, but they must stay away from Brit.
Porsha and Cynthia wonder if Shamea realizes this is the situation, cuz it sounds awfully messy. Brit takes this opportunity to out Shamea to Porsha, letting Porsha know that Shamea was showing her text messages about what her therapist was saying during sessions. Porsha looks p*ssed, but she holds it together in public. Brit claims she just wants to give Porsha some “insight,” but it sounds more like she is trying to stir sh*t up.
The Williams Sonoma cook-off ends with a tie, but when a random guy named Marcus interrupts the fun, the mood changes for Angela. He lets Angela know that he wants to tell her some things she does not know about her husband. Marcus then proceeds to toast loudly, stating, “Cheers! If your name is Angela, it means your husband is cheating on you.” WTF! Angela is doing her best to hold it together because she knows if Charles hears it, he would not handle the disrespect well. Luckily, Kelli kicked the guy out of her party before things escalated.
The minute Phaedra exits the event, she calls Porsha to spill the piping hot tea about Charles allegedly cheating on Angela. Push that storyline!
It’s the day of Phaedra’s black glove shopping affair, and she is pumped. But when Porsha calls to let Phaedra know that her cousin, Londie, passed away, the mood darkens. Porsha’s cousin was like a little sister to her. She was young and sweet and will be terribly missed.
Two hours later, the party begins, and the ladies seemingly have no idea about Londie’s passing. They are excited to shop, and Drew’s lateness leaves her locked out of the event. Maybe she will learn her lesson and be on time?
Angela fills in the other women about Marcus at Kelli’s event, and when Brit enters, greeting Kelli, Kelli gives her the cold shoulder. She still can’t believe that she brought Brit an IV and dinner to help Brit get through the Kendra stuff, but Brit could not even call her about her divorce. Brit insinuates that if Kelli is going to play like that, she has lots of stories to tell later, hinting at just how sideways things are going in their relationship.
Angela lets the group know that they actually found out who that Marcus guy was, and her people paid him a visit. Is this a mob hit? Apparently, Marcus was PAID to say that to Angela, and Kelli wonders who would have done that… perhaps the people who didn’t show up to the event — a dig at Brit.
Kelli is in awe when she learns that Brit invited people over to her home, and it doesn’t take long before the duo is at each other’s throats. The glam squad issue is the center of the argument, and when Brit calls Kelli insecure, it does not sit well. Evidently, it was Kelli’s idea to share the glam squad, and the back and forth is like watching a volley. But when the digs start to go low, it gets messy. Kelli calls Brit a pill popper, and this in turn sets Brit off. She yells out that Kelli had abortions when she was married, and Kelli retorts, “You can’t even have a kid. You could never be me.” As Kelli storms away (with security), Brit shrieks, “Nobody wants to be you, you little hobbit,” and this is all before Phaedra’s fashion show has even started!
Kelli explains to Phaedra, “It’s my body, my choice,” and that she got her tubes tied after the twins, so there’s that. Somebody’s lying! Shamea sits down with Brit and wonders why she went so low and couldn’t call or text Kelli as she navigates this divorce. But Brit claims she can’t support someone like Kelli.
However, the fashion must go on. It ends with Phaedra’s sons modeling their original pieces, and on a lighter note. Until Phaedra explains why Porsha is not in attendance. Shamea is shocked to hear the news of Porsha’s cousin as Phaedra breaks the news. Sometimes it takes sobering news for the group to realize Phaedra’s advice: “We fall out, but at the end of the day, we’re sisters.” But why didn’t Shamea know this news from Porsha, her bestie?
