The Love Island USA season 7 cast doesn’t have access to their phones while filming in Fiji — so who is posting from their social media accounts?
The Peacock series, which premiered in the U.K. on ITV2 in 2002, follows a different group of singles every season who have to pair off in order to stay in the show’s luxury villa. The contestants — who are referred to as Islanders — live in isolation and are under constant video surveillance. They must be coupled up to remain on the show and to stand a chance to receive the prize of $100,000.
Love Island USA has similar rules to the OG series, which includes not having access to the outside world. Islanders can’t bring their phones, they don’t have clocks and they receive those famous texts on an entirely different device.
Former star Lucinda Strafford clarified in a 2021 YouTube video that the device was largely limited to messaging. Islanders could text one another, but producers were able to see their correspondence.
“We used to write messages to each other when we were in bed so other people couldn’t hear what we were saying,” former Islander Adam Collard told OK! Magazine in 2018. “We deleted our messages, but the producers told me that they still have them all.”
Season 4 alum Phoebe Siegel weighed in as well about how all Islanders “have no access to the outside world.”
“You can’t Google, you can’t watch TV, you can’t access your socials, you can’t text anybody,” she added in 2024. “Taking thirst traps, taking really cute videos … besides taking pictures of each other and of yourself, the phone is used for receiving a text.”
As fans of season 7 already know, just because an Islander doesn’t have a phone doesn’t mean their social media platforms are inactive. In fact, the reality stars rely on their loved ones to keep hyping them up — and sometimes even releasing statements on their behalf.

Amaya’s social media account is on hiatus while she is in Fiji.
Austin Shepard
As Austin’s time in the villa continues, he has entrusted his social media to a loved one who has been highlighting his journey to find The One, writing, “There’s no place l’d rather be than down on the FARM!” After his exit, Austin confirmed that his mom was “doing my socials if you couldn’t tell.”
Chelley Bissainthe
The model will return to a loyal following courtesy of her family and friends who are promoting #TeamChelley on her online platforms. Chelley’s loved ones also took to social media to clarify fan rumors about her alleged past connection with Ace.
“Seeing chelley cry was the absolute worst. watching it on the tv screen?! it went from a denzel tear to a full blown ball out cry. dear god!! its like we all felt her pain,” read a post. “Olandria was the first person she met walking into this experience, her other black barbie, her go to girl when talking through all her pickles for. Chelley cherished that so much and for those two to have to leave each others side in such a pivotal moment of the shou was heartbreaking. we know that their friendship will continue.”
Cierra Ortega
Based on Cierra’s Instagram, her inner circle is documenting her time in the villa while communicating with her followers.
“I hate seeing Cierra cry. I could feel her sadness all the way through the screen and it broke my heart in two. There’s a particular kind of heartbreak felt when someone says they care about you, but not enough to choose you. We’ve all been there at one point. I just wish I could give her a hug. My mom always taught me if I have nothing nice to say, I shouldn’t say anything at all,” read a post. “So, instead of sharing my thoughts and opinions on mommy’s little meatball (aka soon to be ground beef)…I thought l’d be fun to surprise Cierra with an appreciation post that she can read when she gets out of the villa. For whenever she’s feeling down, needs to laugh, or remember how much we love her!!!”

There’s no one spreading support for Huda quite like whoever is running her Instagram.

In addition to sharing fan edits, stills from the show and updates on Iris’ style inside the villa, Iris’ personal account also released a statement after her love triangle with Jeremiah and Huda.
Jalen Brown
The bombshell didn’t have social media until he left the villa, which is when he joined social media to overwhelming support.
Jeremiah Brown
According to his bio, Jeremiah’s management ran his social media while he was away, adding, “Jeremiah moments that make me smileMiss seeing bro on the big screen but couldn’t be more proud of him! Appreciate all the love, support, and petitions.” He later revealed his sister was behind his posts in a TikTok video.
Pepe Garcia
If you’re Team Pepe, his social media is the best place to be as his team continues to highlight his Love Island USA stint. “Since there’s no new episode tonight… we couldn’t leave you without your daily Pepe content present to you a throwback of the first ever TikTok trendPepe ever attempted,” read a post.
Nic Vansteenberghe
Nic’s Instagram hasn’t just recapped his time on the show but offered glimpses into his life outside the villa, writing, “right before we descend into casa amor madness… enjoy this chaotic collection of our fav nic core edits”
Olandria Carthen
While viewers wait to see whether Olandria was actually dumped from the villa, her social media has kept Us updated on her search for love.
