For eight seasons, the cast of Charmed enchanted Us with their magical abilities and the power of three — and fans are still in awe of The WB series.
When the show premiered in 1998, it followed three sisters, Prue (Shannen Doherty), Piper (Holly Marie Combs) and Phoebe Halliwell (Alyssa Milano). Throughout the first three seasons, the trio fought evil and protected humans from demons and warlocks while living together in San Francisco.
Following Doherty’s exit, Rose McGowan took over as the third magical sibling, half-sister Paige Matthews, and their efforts to save the world continued. Despite exciting fans with the spellbinding story lines, off camera, there was drama brewing with the original cast.
Doherty and Combs remained friends, but Combs claimed that Milano pressured the producers into firing Doherty in 2001. Milano denied the accusations in February 2024, calling it “revisionist history” via Instagram. The actresses remained at odds until Doherty’s death in 2024, but the magic of the series lives on.
