The couple tied the knot in an intimate family ceremony in New York on Saturday, July 12, 2025. A representative for Leoni confirmed the news to People, stating that only immediate family members were present at the wedding.
Leoni, 59, and Daly, 69, first met on the set of the CBS political drama Madam Secretary in 2014. The series ran for six seasons from September 2014 to December 2019, with Leoni and Daly portraying on-screen spouses Elizabeth and Henry McCord. Their real-life relationship began during the show’s first year of production.
By December 2014, People reported that the pair had been quietly dating since the summer. That same year, Leoni had finalized her divorce from actor David Duchovny in August, following 17 years of marriage. She was also seen attending Daly’s performance of Red in Vermont over the Fourth of July weekend.
Leoni and Daly made their public debut as a couple at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C., in April 2015. They sat with journalist Bob Schieffer and former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. Daly told Bloomberg TV at the event, “We’re gonna be a hot table.”
Their Madam Secretary co-star Geoffrey Arend later confirmed that the romance had surprised the show’s cast. He told People, “Nobody really knew. You don’t want to go to your boss and be like, ‘Hey, so who are you dating?’” Arend added, “He couldn’t be a nicer guy. Tim’s the best — they’re really good together.”
Though Daly and Leoni had attended the same private high school, they did not meet until working together on Madam Secretary.
