When a gray-haired man and blonde woman appeared on the screen, Martin remarked, “Whoa, look at these two,” and followed up with, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy,” after the woman covered her face and the man ducked out of frame.
A concertgoer recorded the moment and shared it on X and TikTok, where it quickly went viral. Social media users identified the pair as Astronomer CEO, Andy Byron, and his Chief People Officer, Kristin Cabot. Both reportedly remain married to other people. Neither Byron nor Cabot has addressed the incident publicly, and Astronomer has not issued a statement.
Internet users flooded Byron’s LinkedIn with references to the Coldplay moment, including comments like “caught on the Jumbotron” and “Coldplay setlist update: A Sky Full of Stars, Fix You, The CEO of Astronomer getting caught cheating” (via Fox News). Following the backlash, Byron deleted his LinkedIn profile.
Cabot, according to a now-deleted LinkedIn post, joined Astronomer approximately seven months ago and has over 20 years of experience in people and culture leadership. The company, founded in 2018, is a New York-based software development firm.
Online commenters also found Byron’s wife’s Facebook page and posted messages of sympathy, with some encouraging her to “get a good lawyer” (via 7 News). Observers noted she has since removed Byron’s surname from her profile.
Coldplay is currently finishing the North American leg of its “Music of the Spheres” tour. The band will perform ten shows at Wembley Stadium in August.
