With Superman and Jurassic World: Rebirth leading the box office, their continued momentum and audience draw have become key industry highlights. Superman has soared past major global benchmarks, while Rebirth maintains a strong run fueled by international markets. At the same time, Lilo & Stitch has made history as the first Hollywood release of the year to cross the billion-dollar mark, overshadowing newer titles struggling to gain traction.

Superman continues strong box office performance in second weekend

Superman has crossed $400 million at the global box office, beating Thunderbolts*.

As of July 20, the film has earned $235,033,462 domestically and $171,800,000 internationally, bringing its worldwide total to $406,833,462 (via Box Office Mojo). The Warner Bros. release opened with $125 million and has maintained the top spot for 10 consecutive days. It currently plays in 4,275 theaters, averaging over $4,000 per theater as of Sunday.

Jurassic World Rebirth almost reaches $650 million worldwide

Jurassic World: Rebirth continues to perform strongly, earning $276,184,240 domestically and $371,769,000 overseas. Its total global gross stands at $647,953,240 (via Box Office Mojo).

Universal’s sequel entered its third weekend with consistent daily holds. Its opening was $92 million and it’s now in its 19th day across 3,854 theaters in North America.

Lilo & Stitch hits the billion dollar benchmark

Disney’s Lilo & Stitch remake has become the first Hollywood film in 2025 to surpass $1 billion globally.

It has earned $418,186,676 domestically and $589,800,000 internationally, totaling $1,007,986,676 (via Box Office Mojo). The film premiered on May 23 and reached the milestone on its 59th day in theaters. It opened with $146 million and was released in 4,410 theaters at its widest.

New movies don’t offer much competition this weekend

I Know What You Did Last Summer has grossed $13,000,000 domestically and $11,600,000 internationally, for a global total of $24,600,000 (via Box Office Mojo). Smurfs follows with $11,000,000 in the US and $22,600,000 overseas, totaling $33,600,000 (via Box Office Mojo).

Meanwhile, A24’s Eddington has only released domestically and has earned $4,255,607 in its first three days (via Box Office Mojo). All three titles failed to challenge the top five at the box office.

F1 closes in on new box office milestone

F1: The Movie has earned $153,642,641 in North America and $307,200,000 internationally. Its global earnings now stand at $460,842,641, putting it on track to cross the $500 million mark soon (via Box Office Mojo).

Released by Warner Bros., the film is in its fourth weekend of release. It opened with $57 million and continues to perform steadily in international markets, bolstered by strong interest in racing-themed dramas and positive word-of-mouth.
