LA Laura Paris Commands the Club with ‘Underground Girl (Remixes)’

The multidisciplinary artist breathes new life into her debut with globe-spanning club reworks that pulse with fresh energy.

LA Laura Paris has never stayed in one lane. A singer, dancer, visual artist, and director, she built her name on multidisciplinary expression and a fearless approach to pop music. Her 2024 debut,  Underground Girl, was a bold introduction—equal parts sleek, strange, and intimate. After gaining widespread attention with her emotional tribute “Mon Papa,” she hands her debut to international DJs for a night-long celebration on the dancefloor.

On Underground Girl (Remixes), there’s no time for stillness. The newly released collection invites an international cast of DJs to deconstruct and reimagine the debut through a club lens, turning inward emotion into something kinetic and expansive. These are songs meant for dancefloors, not diaries.

This is more than a vanity remix project. Across the album, LA Laura Paris leans into a growing movement in the pop-electronic world where remixes aren’t afterthoughts—they’re full-fledged reworks designed to shift context, energy, and meaning.

And movement is key here. A trained choreographer, LA Laura Paris seems to build music with the body in mind. On Underground Girl (Remixes), rhythm is everything. Beats land like strobe lights; synths pulse like blood. Songs that once focused on lyrical narrative now expand outward, repurposed for sweat, shadow, and subwoofers.

There’s something liberating about this pivot. After the personal heaviness of “Mon Papa,” LA Laura Paris now seems to be asking: What does it feel like to be free? Underground Girl (Remixes) doesn’t give a singular answer, but it sure knows how to ask the question loud enough for the whole club to hear.
