X Users Mark Two Weeks Since Astronomer CEO’s Cheating Scandal

It’s been two weeks since Astronomer CEO Andy Byron found himself in the middle of a viral cheating scandal, and X users aren’t letting the internet’s favorite roast die down anytime soon.

The controversy began after a now-infamous moment at a Coldplay concert went viral. Byron was spotted cozying up to his coworker, Kristin Cabot, on the stadium jumbotron.

The pair’s attempt to quickly duck out of view only made things worse, prompting Coldplay frontman Chris Martin to joke, “They’re either having an affair… or are very shy.”

Now, two weeks later, X users are commemorating Astronomer CEO Andy Byron’s awkward milestone in the most sarcastic way possible.

“Wish them a happy anniversary in the most sarcastic way possible,” one user quipped, while another added, “Still holding strong lol.”

Others seemed surprised at how quickly time had passed since the scandal first broke. “It’s been two weeks already? Wow,” one comment read.

Another chimed in with, “Best 2 weeks ever,” as someone else asked, “This is the new holiday now? How do we celebrate?”

Some even leaned into the comedy of the moment with musical references. “Do I hear a Barry Manilow song?” one person joked, while another declared, “This wins the internet today.”

The timing of the scandal’s two-week anniversary made things even juicier online, as August 1 also happened to be National Girlfriends Day. X users wasted no time connecting the dots, using the occasion to take fresh aim at Byron.

“Happy National Girlfriends Day to the former CEO of Astronomer. Hope it’s a great one!” one person wrote, a post that quickly racked up likes and retweets.

Byron officially stepped down from his role as CEO on July 19, with Astronomer cofounder Pete DeJoy stepping in as interim CEO. “Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the board of directors has accepted,” the company said in a statement at the time.

The fallout has extended further, as Kristin Cabot has also resigned. “Kristin Cabot is no longer with Astronomer,” a company spokesperson confirmed on Thursday, July 24. “She has resigned.”

As if the Coldplay fiasco wasn’t enough, Byron soon found himself in the middle of another controversy, this time involving OnlyFans.

As The Blast reported, Bop House creator Camilla Araujo came forward with explosive claims, alleging the former CEO shelled out “over $250,000” on subscriptions, custom videos, and one-on-one calls with multiple creators.

According to Araujo, Byron’s spending spree didn’t stop at Sophie Rain, the creator first linked to the scandal. She told The Blast that he allegedly funneled cash toward several other women connected to her influencer collective, the Bop House, in what she described as a shocking pattern of excess.

As if the scandal itself wasn’t messy enough, rumors are now circulating that Byron may be considering legal action against Coldplay frontman Chris Martin over the viral Kiss Cam incident.

But according to legal experts, any lawsuit would go nowhere fast.

Employment lawyer Ron Zambrano of West Coast Employment Lawyers told The U.S. Mirror that any claims Byron might file would be “dead on arrival.”

According to Zambrano, Byron has “no grounds to sue,” since any case would likely run into First Amendment protections and Coldplay’s right to add a playful, creative element to their show.

He also pointed out that Byron and Cabot put themselves in the spotlight by attending a public event. “Their PDA was a choice,” Zambrano said. “Coldplay didn’t create the moment. They just caught it.”

So far, no official filings have been made.
