Katie Ginella appeared on Thursday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live, where she was questioned about the controversial recording she took amid an alleged meltdown by Shannon Beador.
As she reacted to Shannon, 61, claiming she was worse than Tamra Judge, 57, and Alexis Bellino, 48, shaded Emily Simpson, 49, and Gina Kirschenheiter, and offered an update on her relationship with Heather Dubrow, 56, the 41-year-old Real Housewives of Orange County cast member claimed only one person heard her voice note.
“Only zaddy Matty heard it,” Katie told Andy Cohen, 57, on the July 31 episode of WWHL. “I never showed it to [the cast] or played it for them. I talked about it.”
While Katie has been widely criticized for recording Shannon without her knowledge, she doesn’t seem to have any regrets. In fact, when asked to defend her decision, she didn’t miss a beat.
“Don’t give me a reason to have to,” she stated.
After learning about the recording, Shannon was understandably beside herself and suggested that Katie was worse than both Tamra and Alexis.
“What the hell? I didn’t sue her for $75,000,” Katie said in response, signaling John Janssen‘s facelift lawsuit against her. “[And] I did the bad thing, and then Tamra revealed it, so maybe we’re equal.”
As for Tamra’s claim that Matt Ginella yelled at her, Katie admitted to confronting her spouse.
“I actually was like, ‘Matt, did you yell?’ Because I didn’t remember. I had a couple of martinis, and I was like, ‘You didn’t yell!’ He’s so calm, though, I knew it,” she shared.
Although she and Tamra have had their ups and downs, Katie confirmed that she’d been unblocked by Tamra, whom she was “warned most about” before she joined the show.
“She now follows me,” Katie revealed.
Meanwhile, after being asked about Emily and Gina, all she would say was, “Who?”
Katie shared a more positive update on Heather, saying, “We don’t really have any issues this season,” before confirming they “do not” talk.
Katie also addressed the blogger drama of the season, pointing out that many of her castmates are story-spreaders themselves, as she said it was “not true” that she contacted bloggers to plant stories.
“If we’re calling bloggers, podcasters, content creators, most of my cast are those,” she noted.
Later, while appearing on the WWHL: After Show, Katie clarified that when she sent her voice note to her husband, she and Shannon were not friends.
“Shannon and I were not friends. Shannon and I didn’t become friends til much later. Everyone’s like, ‘She was your friend, she was defending you.’ No,” she argued. “We weren’t friends. She hated me at that point.”
As for where she stands with Alexis, Katie admitted the two of them are “not that close anymore” as she was questioned about whether she’d be attending Alexis’ upcoming wedding to John, 62.
“We will not be at the wedding, but I wish her the best of luck,” Katie stated.
