Scheana Shay is firing back at her haters who’ve suggested that she only went public with Brock Davies‘ affair because she hoped it would land her a full-time position on The Valley and allow her to sell more copies of her just-released memoir, My Good Side.
During a couple of podcast appearances last week, the 40-year-old Vanderpump Rules alum denied selling out her family as she explained her decision to come forward with her husband’s infidelity and reacted to Jax Taylor, 46, leaving The Valley ahead of season three.
“For everyone saying I’m so desperate to get on The Valley and I’m trying to sell a book and use my family and all of that, I just want to remind them that I’ve been a part of this show since before it actually existed,” Scheana noted on the July 22 episode of Juicy Scoop, via Us Weekly. “And I would never sell my family out to sell an actual book.”
Despite the backlash, Scheana stands by her decision to share the news of Brock’s affair in her book.
“I’m telling my truth because it’s my story and there’s no way I could put out a memoir and not tell my full story,” she reasoned. “If there’s anything missing from the book, it’s not anything that’s a skeleton in my closet because all of those are out.”
“And maybe I could have gone into some more detail on some stuff. But this is literally all of me. And it’s kind of scary,” she added.
Meanwhile, on the July 23 episode of So Bad It’s Good, via Us Weekly, Scheana described Jax’s exit from The Valley as “smart” and “healthy.”
“For Jax, I think that’s a smart decision. I think that’s a healthy decision,” she shared. “I think he does need to focus on his mental health and his sobriety right now. Being in rehab, trying to film a TV show, and having the FOMO [fear of missing out] and all of that. None of that was healthy for him.”
According to Scheana, she wants to see Jax stay clean because it will only be a benefit to his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, 36, and their son, 4-year-old Cruz.
“I think this is a very smart and mature decision for him to focus on his sobriety. I hope he continues on that path for not just himself, but for [his son] Cruz and for Brittany,” she concluded.
The Valley season two airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
