Searchlight Pictures has released the first Rental Family trailer, previewing the film about Brendan Fraser joining an agency that hires people to be pretend friends and family.
What happens in the Rental Family trailer?
The trailer highlights the story of an American actor (Fraser) living in Japan and struggling to find a purpose. He lands a gig working for a “rental family” agency, where he plays stand-in roles for strangers and begins to find a connection and bond amongst them.
Rental Family is set to release in theaters on November 21, 2025.

Rental Family is directed by Hikari, the Japanese director known primarily for his debut feature film 37 Seconds. Alongside Fraser, the film also stars Mari Yamamoto, Takehiro Hira, and Akira Emoto.
