Trent Sweeney Responds To Sydney Sweeney Backlash

Trent Sweeney, a staff sergeant in the U.S. Air Force, playfully responded to the viral outrage by sharing an Instagram post celebrating his recent military promotion, complete with a tongue-in-cheek nod to his own “good jeans.”
“It’s them good jeans,” Trent wrote over a photo of his official certificate, clearly referencing the tagline at the center of Sydney’s American Eagle campaign.
He followed up with a post showing himself in uniform receiving the certificate, captioning it, “I’m excited for this next step in my career and thank everyone that’s been a part of it so far.”
Big sister Sydney gave her stamp of approval by liking the post.

The “Euphoria” star’s partnership with American Eagle, part of a larger brand deal, came under fire for a tagline, “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans.”
The campaign video, which features Sydney cheerfully discussing hereditary traits and ending with the line “my jeans are blue,” was slammed by some left-wing critics as “dog whistle” content promoting eugenics, Western beauty ideals, and even alleged Nazi propaganda.
In response to the controversy, American Eagle issued a statement defending the campaign, emphasizing it was never about anything other than denim.
“This campaign is and always was about the jeans. Her jeans. Her narrative,” the company said. “We will continue to honor the unique ways everyone wears their AE jeans with confidence. Great jeans flatter everyone.”

Trump Praises Sydney Sweeney Amid Backlash

As Sydney Sweeney continues to face backlash from critics accusing her American Eagle ad of promoting eugenics and white beauty standards, she’s found an unlikely supporter in President Donald Trump.
During an impromptu press gaggle before boarding Air Force One in Allentown, Pennsylvania on Sunday, Trump lit up when informed that the “Euphoria” star is a registered Republican.
“Oh, now I love her ad,” he said with a grin, referring to the now-viral denim campaign. “You’d be surprised at how many people are Republicans. That’s one I wouldn’t have known, but I’m glad you told me that.”
Trump didn’t hesitate to offer his stamp of approval, “If Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican, I think her ad is fantastic.”

Michael Rapaport Defends Sweeney
As the backlash over Sydney Sweeney’s American Eagle ad continues to dominate headlines, actor and comedian Michael Rapaport is stepping in to defend the actress, and he’s not holding back.
In a fiery Instagram video, Rapaport slammed the online mob who are accusing Sweeney of promoting white supremacy and eugenics through her now-infamous “great jeans” campaign. The “Deep Blue Sea” star made it clear he doesn’t know Sweeney personally, and has never even seen an episode of “Euphoria,” but said the outrage is completely out of hand.
“Who gives a f-ck who is registered as what?” Rapaport said, reacting to headlines that revealed Sweeney is a registered Republican. “Republican, Democrat, Independent, or whatever the f-ck they want to do.”

He went on to blast the attacks against the actress, calling them “bullying and harassment” fueled by baseless assumptions.
“This is a young 27-year-old girl that’s being bullied and harassed,” Rapaport continued. “You don’t think her team of powerful agents and lawyers dotted every I and ran everything up the flagpole to do that American Eagle jeans campaign, and all of a sudden she’s a Nazi? And it’s white supremacy? Leave her the f-ck alone.”
Sydney Sweeney Heckled At Movie Premiere Over American Eagle Ad Controversy

A few days ago, Sydney Sweeney found herself face-to-face with real-world backlash, this time at her own movie premiere.
On Sunday night, the “Anyone But You” star arrived at the Hollywood premiere of her new film “Americana,” stepping out of a black SUV dressed to impress. But as she made her way toward the venue, things took a tense turn when a woman in the crowd began shouting at her.
“Stop the ad, that is being racist!” the heckler yelled, referencing Sweeney’s now-infamous American Eagle campaign.
The woman wasn’t seen on camera, but her voice rang out clearly in video footage captured at the event.
Sydney didn’t acknowledge the remark and kept walking, remaining poised and unbothered as she disappeared into the theater.
