One Piece fans got double the excitement with fresh Season 2 footage, a confirmed release window, and news of Season 3. The recently released teaser showed glimpses of new adventures, larger-than-life characters, and high-stakes challenges for the Straw Hat crew. More production updates and details are on the way as the live-action series charts a course for an even bigger journey.
Netflix debuted the first look trailer for One Piece Season 2 during the One Piece Day 2025 event in Tokyo, confirming the season will release in 2026.
Subtitled Into the Grand Line, the new season will adapt arcs such as Loguetown, Reverse Mountain, Whiskey Peak, Little Garden, and Drum Island. The teaser showed the first look at giants Dorry and Brogy, Laboon the whale, and Tony Tony Chopper, played by Mikaela Hoover.
Filming for Season 2 wrapped in February 2025 in Cape Town, South Africa. Cast members from Season 1 return, joined by several new additions. The new cast includes Joe Manganiello as Mr. 0, Lera Abova as Miss All-Sunday, Callum Kerr as Smoker, Julia Rehwald as Tashigi, and Katey Sagal as Dr. Kureha. Brendan Murray and Werner Coetser play the giants Brogy and Dorry, respectively.
One Piece Season 3 confirmed to set sail soon
Netflix confirmed One Piece Season 3 during the same event, with production scheduled to begin later in 2025.
The third season will again film in Cape Town, with Ian Stokes joining Joe Tracz as co-showrunner, writer, and executive producer. The early renewal follows the live-action series’ strong reception after its 2023 debut.
Season 3 enters pre-production while post-production continues for Season 2. Earlier, in a letter to fans, Creator Eiichiro Oda had said Season 2’s storyline would set up future arcs. It would introduce characters and plot points that connect to later sagas, such as Arabasta and Enies Lobby. Smoker’s pursuit of Luffy was noted as an element with long-term significance.
The first season of One Piece premiered on Netflix in August 2023, adapting the East Blue saga. Season 2 will take the Straw Hats into the Grand Line, featuring “fiercer adversaries and the most perilous quests yet,” as per the official synopsis.
